The boxing world is buzzing with headlines after YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul knocked down BKFC hotshot Mike Perry in a boxing match. Initially, the fight was scheduled between Paul and Mike Tyson, but Tyson had to withdraw due to an ulcer. As a result, Paul ended BKFC’s historic future by defeating Perry. The buzz has now reached the basketball world, with Milwaukee Bucks point guard Damian Lillard expressing support for a new contender against Jake Paul with his three-word message.
After Paul knocked down Mike Perry in the bout, former professional boxer Andre Ward uploaded a post on X with the caption, “He would never say my name 🤐” Notably, Ward had an undefeated record from 2004 to 2017, winning 16 fights by KO, 15 by decision, and one by disqualification. This potential matchup with Jake Paul inspired boxer Claressa Shields to encourage Ward, saying, “Let’s make it happen. Get him SOG!!!!!” Seeing this support, Damian Lillard sided with Ward, sharing an uplifting message on his IG story that read, “I like it @andresogward”
It’s worth noting that Damian Lillard is a big boxing enthusiast, often reacting to various bouts. Despite supporting Andre Ward in fighting Jake Paul, the 34-year-old has no intention of stepping into the ring against Paul, as he revealed in March this year.

Damian Lillard on a potential fight with Jake Paul
Jake Paul has become a notable figure in the boxing world, generating buzz regardless of whether people view his choice of opponents positively or negatively. However, upon further insistence, he expressed his respect for Jake Paul’s dedication to boxing and explained why he wouldn’t fight him.
“With somebody like Jake Paul, because I train you know, I’m always in the gym in the summer…I think he’s got so much experience now where he’s fought in these big events, he’s taking boxing serious. and anybody who hasn’t had that opportunity, or anybody who hasn’t taken it that serious as far as wanting to become a fighter, then you shouldn’t be mentioned with those guys, “ Lillard expressed his thoughts as being a boxing enthusiast himself as he spoke highly of Paul.
Despite many not considering Jake Paul a pro fighter due to his choice of opponents and allegations of performance-enhancing drugs, Damian Lillard respects the work and effort Paul puts into boxing.
