LeBron and Curry at the Paris Olympics—Is this the dream team we've all been waiting for?

Team USA has done it again! With their fifth straight Olympic gold, the USA stands on top of the world right now. However, the Dream team could not have done it without their starting players, namely Stephen Curry and Lebron James, who had an amazing game against France yesterday. The Chef took over in the fourth quarter, draining four threes from downtown in the final 2:43 to extend the lead to 11 points after the French had cut it down to just 3, while the King took care of things on both sides of the court.

With Steph Curry winning his first Olympic medal and LeBron James being awarded the MVP, the mighty USA has completed yet another gold run in the Olympics. Having already been awarded the gold medal, will LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and the rest of Team USA attend the Paris Olympics’ closing ceremony that takes place today?

Well, even though there is no definitive answer to the question, the chances of them attending the ceremony this time are high, given that Team USA attended the Tokyo Olympics closing ceremony in 2020 after bagging the gold in the tournament. However, we cannot say that everyone on Team USA will attend. Tyrese Haliburton, for example, seems to be enjoying a cruise in his speedboat with his girlfriend, Jade Jones, as seen in a story uploaded by Jade on Instagram.

While not everyone may attend, at least some will be part of the closing ceremony in Paris for the Olympics, which won’t take place again for another four years. As the final hours of the Olympics unfold, let’s dive into what happens at the Paris Olympics’ closing ceremony.

Before the closing ceremonies take place, several events still need to be completed, including competitions like:

Apart from the usual elements that take place in every Olympic closing ceremony—such as the head of the host country along with the International Olympic Committee president entering and the national anthem of the host country being sung or played as the national flag is raised—France’s artistic director, Thomas Jolly, who directed the controversial opening ceremony, seems to have planned something special for the closing ceremony as well.

“We want to celebrate, but consciously. This moment of celebration will also be an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the Olympic Games in our society,” Thomas Jolly said.

With performances from artists like Snoop Dogg, H.E.R., Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and Billie Eilish, the Paris Olympics aim to make the closing ceremony an “absolutely exceptional show,” according to Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet. “Finally, the pressure will be off, and everyone will be able to take full advantage of the absolutely exceptional show that is being planned under the direction of Thomas Jolly, with the help of all the teams working across the four Paris 2024 ceremonies,” Estanguet said.

In addition to the stadium in France being turned into a concert hall, there will be 100 different types of performers, from acrobats to dancers, to make sure everyone has a blast—from the athletes to the organizers who busted their tails to make the 2024 Olympics a huge success.
