Wednesday’s match was an emotional rollercoaster for Stephen Curry. After Draymond Green’s ejection within the first four minutes left him teary-eyed, he celebrated the win against the Orlando Magic by kicking the chair on the sidelines. However, he blew off steam with a friendly golf matchup against his brother, Seth Curry before the Warriors game in his hometown of Charlotte, which, spoiler alert: he lost.
Following that, the Chef made a special announcement. For this year’s Underrated Golf Tour in the UK, he will be joining Welsh former footballer Gareth Bale in London. The 4x NBA Champion took to social media to share the news, captioning his post, “Big things in the works! 🏌️⚽🏀”

Following his retirement in January 2023, Gareth Bale swapped the pitch for the green, making his PGA Tour debut at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am in February of the same year. Known for his passion for golf, the Welshman has a stunning garden golf course at his estate in Wales. This mini-course includes replicas of three of the most famous holes in the world – the 17th at Sawgrass, the ‘postage stamp’ 8th at Royal Troon, and the 12th at Augusta National.
Curry, on the other hand, has been playing golf since the age of 10. Now, at 36, he is also a driving force in making golf more inclusive. Curry launched UNDERRATED Golf in 2021 to diversify the sport in the United States and is now extending his efforts to Europe, starting with Surrey from May 29 to 31. Winners in Surrey will secure a spot in the 2024 Curry Cup, the championship of this tour.
Stephen Curry’s winning formula
While basketball is Curry’s profession, golf is the sport that relaxes him. In fact, it may have played a role in some of his most significant victories. A prime example? During the 2015 Western Conference Finals, while battling a 2-1 deficit against the Memphis Grizzlies, Curry, and former teammate Andre Iguodala played 18 holes to unwind and reset. As it turns out, the time on the pitch helped as the duo guided Golden State to three straight wins, securing the series en route to winning the 2015 NBA championship.
Something similar happened on Friday. Although
Steph lost the money to Seth, the golf game did the trick as he lit up the scoreboards with his 23 points, including four 3-pointers, during a 115-97 blowout win over his brother’s team, the Charlotte Hornets. With the win, the Warriors registered their third straight win and improved their record to 39-34 this season.Read More: Stephen Curry Will Escape Warriors’ Burden If $100 Million+ Offer Hits NBA Market In JulyADVERTISEMENT
