The NBA Preseason is well and truly underway and the fans are delighted, after three months without NBA basketball. Preseason has been full of narratives, as new teams are taking shape. The Portland Trail Blazers have completely revamped their entire roster. As their franchise superstar, Damian Lillard has left for the Bucks in search of an NBA title.

The Blazers got DeAndre Ayton in the trade for Lillard and the seven-footer would face his former team for the first time. Ayton would look to prove a point against the likes of Booker and Kevin Durant, even if it’s just a preseason game.

The Portland Trail Blazers have completely revamped their roster after Dame’s departure. The Blazers are trying to build a team around the young core of Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, and Anfernee Simons. They are all under the age of twenty-five years old. DeAndre Ayton fits in perfectly with the makeup of the roster, as he provides an intimidating presence in the paint and he is also relatively young. Portland provides Ayton a new lease on life, as the last couple of seasons in Phoenix haven’t been his best. Ayton didn’t fare well in the pressurized environment of the Suns, as he often looked disgruntled and had arguments with his teammates and coaches.

The Blazers welcome Ayton’s former side later tonight. DeAndre Ayton would be motivated to prove that the Suns were wrong to trade him. But the seven-footer has shot down questions about playing against the Suns in the preseason. He said, “I have no thoughts. … I don’t want to talk about Phoenix. They told me y’all came to talk about the game I played yesterday”.

The Blazers comfortably ran out winners against the New Zealand Breakers, the game finished 106-66. Ayton scored seven points in the game. The game against the Suns would be much tougher and the Blazers would have to put on their A-game to stand any chance of winning.
