In yet another sensation caused by none other than Draymond Green today, many reactions are pouring in.

The Golden State Warriors forward was ejected earlier today after receiving a flagrant foul 2 in the second half against the Phoenix Suns. Green’s foul occurred with just 8.23 minutes remaining in the game’s third quarter when he swung and hit Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic in the head.

At first, Green had his back turned to Nurkic, while he was trying to repeatedly hold off of him. Eventually, Draymond Green turned around and hit the Suns player in the head.

Suns’ Jusuf Nurkic on Warriors’ Draymond Green after ejection

Jusuf Nurkic questioned the behavior of Draymond Green. Draymond’s behavior has been commented upon by many in the past including Stephen Curry. Nurkic said, “What’s going on with him? I don’t know. Personally, I feel like that brother needs help. I’m glad he didn’t try to choke me. At the same time, it ain’t nothing to do with basketball.”

Warriors at the time were leading the Suns 65-60 and Green already had one technical foul against him. Referee Brian Forte judged Draymond Green’s actions as “unnecessary and excessive contact to the face.” The Suns star kept lying on the floor for several minutes before he got back to play.

Before the ejection, Draymond Green had scored 2 points, two rebounds and two assists in the game against the Suns. Nurkic on the other hand tallied 17 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists for the Sun’s victory. The video started trending on the internet and Draymond Green offered an apology with ifs and butts though.

Draymond Green’s apology to Jusuf Nurkic

Green got a five-game suspension for grabbing Rudy Gobert’s neck during the Warriors’ Timberwolves clash. The two had an altercation and Draymond took the extreme step. Steph Curry warned him to know where the limit is after losing against the Sacramento Kings. But after the Nurkic incident, Draymond Green apologized to the star but maintained it was unintentional.

Draymond maintained that Jusuf was pulling his hip and he was swinging away to sell the call when made the contact.  He said, “As you know, I’m not one to apologize for things I meant to do but I do apologize to Jusuf because I didn’t intend to hit him.”
