2022 NBA champions Golden State Warriors grabbed a huge chunk of the headlines ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season and it wasn’t for any massive trades or other on-court exploits. Four-time NBA champion Draymond Green punched 24-year-old Jordan Poole during a training session. The appalling incident caught the attention of many, making headlines globally.
Now that Poole is traded to the Washington Wizards and Green recently signed a $100 million extension, the Warriors veteran clears the air around the controversy.
Talking with Patrick Beverley on his podcast, Green revealed what actually went down that day. Interestingly, this wasn’t taken well by Poole’s father, who lashed out publicly.

Jordan Poole’s father lashes out at Draymond Green
The Jordan Poole and Draymond Green drama took the NBA world by storm ahead of last season. After all, the Stephen Curry-led side was coming off a brilliant 2022 NBA title win, with Poole playing an integral part.
An internal conflict was the last thing they needed. One thing led to another and Poole has been traded to the Washington Wizards following a heartbreaking playoffs loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.
Months after the huge controversy, Green provided some insider info. He revealed nothing happened in an instant and nobody on the Warriors team could trigger the former Defensive Player of the Year that easily.

“I don’t just hit people. Dialogue, of course, happens over time and you ain’t just triggered by something like that fast. You know what I’m saying, this is a team. Ain’t nobody on my team, triggering me in an instant. We know stuff that you don’t say among men. We know things that you have to stand on”, said Green on the Pat Bev podcast.
Interestingly, Poole’s father did not like what Green had to say. Taking to Twitter, Anthony Poole had some bold words against his son’s former teammate.
I’m stand on this that’s is some bs. Jp was his guy and he avoid me all last yr. He is a soft as bitch and I’m standing on this and he didn’t apologize to me and my wife. So he lame and me and him can meet anytime he want

Green has yet to respond to these claims. However, knowing the Golden State Warriors veteran, he is the last person to stray away from a fight.
What did Poole say about the incident?
It has been over 9 months since the infamous punching incident. A lot has happened in the 2022 NBA champion’s life since then. Now that he is with the Washington Wizards, the 24-year-old is ready to bury his past.
