Are Zion 3's the best signature shoes yet, or just another overhyped release?

As the NBA offseason rolls down with ease, our hoopers are enjoying their time to recharge and refuel. From cozy family time to vacations, and brand promotion campaigns, the rulers of the court are being quite productive. Therefore, why should the Pelicans protege, Zion Williamson, remain left out? The 24-year-old’s recent China visit was nothing short of an adventure. When you have great company, what else do you expect?!

The primary reason why Zion Williamson, Luka Doncic, and others were in China was the Jordan Brand Family Tour. Leaving the compound of the West, the apparel and sneakers brand has reached the Land of the Dragon. Moreover, Williamson’s motivation was on a whole new level. Why? Well, the Zion 3 sneakers have launched, and the power-forward was all set to promote the latest wonder of Jordan. As with Zion 1 & 2, a lot of thought has gone into designing Zion 3.

Speaking with Overtime, who spent a day with the NBA stars, Williamson decoded the model for the fans. “So the Zion 3—my third signature shoe with Jordan Brand has a lot of hidden gems in it.” He added: “I got an acronym right here. You know, for years I’ve been telling people, if you figure it out, I got a gift for you.” Both the previous editions have the ‘ZW’ shining brightly on the tongue of the shoe. “I had high-tops and mid-ops for my first and second shoe but my third shoe- I wanted to showcase more my guard-like skills, so I went low top. Even though it’s a low-top, the way it’s built your foot is sunken into the shoe.”

Well, the Zion 3 Galaxy-themed, low-top pairs have added a new style to the collection. While the exact details of the colorway weren’t mentioned, it likely includes cosmic-themed elements such as starry patterns, space-inspired colors, or glow-in-the-dark accents, reflecting the “Galaxy” theme. Meanwhile, the Zion 3 PF is built for players who dominate both on the ground and in the air. It keeps you stable and controlled, then lets you jump high and land softly with extra cushioning. But one of the biggest game-changers in the collection were the two elder siblings of Zion 3.

Zion Williamson signed an unprecedented five-year $75 million deal with Jordan Brand before making his NBA debut. Undoubtedly, the Salisbury native had been sanctified as the company’s next big star. The Jordan Zion 1 was a product of the COVID-19 pandemic. Williamson spent his quarantine time, putting his brain to work full-time. Thus when the first batch of the Zion 1 was released, it was a color splash. The basketball shoes called the Hyper Jade were nothing less than an artist’s canvas.
