“You’re Focused on What You Did Wrong”: Ending 33-Year Marriage With Ugly Divorce, Are Stephen Curry’s Parents Still Spending Time Together?

4-time NBA Champion Stephen Curry is one of the most influential sports figures. Considered The Greatest Shooter of All Time, Steph changed the way basketball is played in the NBA. Steph’s younger brother, Seth Curry, is also an elite basketball player despite not being as good as his brother. Whenever the two siblings are defending on the court, their parents, Dell and Sonya Curry, can be seen cheering for them with full passion. They seemed like a happy couple living their dream. But the couple was going through their battles and decided to end their 33-year-long marriage in 2021. And, two years after their ugly divorce, Sonya Curry, revealed that she might still be spending time with her ex-husband.

In 2021, Sonya Curry filed for divorce to end her marriage with Former NBA player Dell Curry. The reason stated for the divorce was “marital misconduct” by the Charlotte Hornets legend. In response to Sonya, Dell Curry accused his wife of committing acts of “illicit sexual misconduct”. That led to an ugly separation of the couple after testing out a trial separation for one year. Even after the divorce, the couple was cordial in public as they showed up at their children’s NBA games from time to time.

Sonya Curry was a guest on the “Got it from My Momma” podcast hosted by Jennifer Vickery Smith, where she talked about a lesson she learned from her ex-husband. “Next Play”, Sonya said, talking about how Steph and Seth’s father used to handle every situation. That meant, “If you’re too busy looking at what you just did wrong, you’re not gonna be ready for what is next”. Sonya used a similar quote in her new book. Sonya also revealed that she is taking tennis lessons for the first time in her life and it might be with her ex-husband Dell Curry. She talked about hitting the ball out of bounds, and Dell threw another ball at her very quickly and asked her to keep going rather than focusing on what she did wrong. Sonya’s revelation hinted at the divorced couple meeting after their separation.

After the shocking revelation, the NBA world is wondering if a reunion is on the cards for Sonya and Dell Curry. After all, 33 years is a long time for two people to spend together, and it would not be easy for them to let go of each other’s past.
