Would you trade LeBron James for Bronny James? Let's hear your wildest takes!

“I never thought about just playing with my dad.” Before the Lakers drafted Bronny, he made it clear that teaming up with his father was not his priority. Yet here we are, only months away from possibly seeing the father-son duo create history in the Purple and Gold uniform. Sure enough, there are a lot of questions on everyone’s mind about how their dynamic will play out in the professional environment. Don’t worry! LeBron James made things clear in a recent interview as his hilarious text has left the community buzzing.

During The Shop podcast, LeBron was asked how his working relationship would be with Bronny and would the rookie call him ‘dad’ at practice. He hilariously replied, “No! he can’t. We already laid that down. Cannot call me dad in the workplace.” While the hoops legend has no problem with playing the ‘dad’ role at home or anywhere outside the practice facility, at work, he wants to be treated by his son like a teammate, “He got to call me like 2-3 or Bron or GOAT if he want to. It’s up to him.”

LeBron James also claimed that the transition would be easy for him as he is habitual to calling his son by his name. But it would be an adjustment for Bronny, “We can’t be running down the court and he’d be like ‘Dad, push the ball up. Dad, I’m open. Dad, come on!’”

Doubling down on the same sentiment, King James even shared a hilarious tweet saying, “Dad get yo a** back on defense” with 11 crying-out laughing emojis. Because no father-son duo has ever shared the court in the NBA, LeBron and Bronny James’ working relationship will be a hot topic whenever they run the floor together as teammates.

Bronny and LeBron James’ team-up draws a mixed bunch of opinions from fans, with a meme reference from 2018!

As expected, fans were left in a frenzy after LeBron’s tweet as one predicted a harsh fate for Bronny if he ever bosses his father around, “Nah we know you’d trade him for that one.” Yes, King James has been accused of playing the GM role in his career, deciding the fate of many of his coaches and teammates. The same speculation arose quite recently after Darvin Ham was shown the door, after visible disagreements with LeBron throughout the season. And fans believe he might do the same with his son if things don’t go right!

Meanwhile, one fan loved the idea of Bronny calling his father ‘GOAT’ at work. They continued, “Just can’t believe you’re playing with your own son, I still can’t wrap my mind around how you achieved such a feat and some still don’t have you as their GOAT 🤦🏽‍♂️ We should get rid of those ppl for good they’re not good for humanity. Thank you LeBron for spreading your greatness to the world 🐐 🌎”

He has arguably achieved this elite status because of his body of work and longevity. The claims about his ‘GOAT’ status rose even further after he brought back Gold from the Paris Olympics. Teaming up with his son is undeniably the ultimate icing on the cake.

One netizen even predicted an awkward situation in the James household! “You when y’all get home and Savanah yells at you for not passing it to Bronny…..” This fan even substantiated their argument by attaching a terrified cropped picture of the legend himself.

Hilariously, one fan brought out the iconic JR Smith meme from the 2018 Finals when LeBron James was frustrated after JR forgot the score and did not shoot the ball. And this person claimed the Laker would have the same reaction if Bronny didn’t pass him the ball!

While most fans were amused by LeBron James’ tweet, an individual accused the legend, saying, “This is the definition of nepotism.” Yes, many believe that Bronny only made it to the league because of his influential father and he is not ready to go pro just yet. However, that entire discussion is a can of worms in itself, and it is best to let Jr. have his shot before making any judgment.

Regardless, we cannot wait to see the father-son duo share the court and see how their relationship plays out in front of millions of fans.
