Just as Kyrie Irving’s controversial past is always talked about, his “beef” with LeBron James is just as well known. Of course, they are not on the same intensity as MJ and Isiah Thomas or Bron and Paul Pierce. A few would argue it wouldn’t even be considered beef! After all, there weren’t many of those stinging comments or digs at each other, years after their Cavs stint. But yes, there is one where Irving did take a dig at the Laker and his clutch genes. However, the man who it was directed at, didn’t blow it out of proportion or take it further. Yet, there was enough in there to not fool a lot. It seems to be the case here, too. Wondering what we are referring to?

LeBron reminiscing about his Cavs days with Kyrie sends podcasters on a laughing spree

Jason Smith, couldn’t believe the King’s latest comments on Kai. In Tuesday’s episode of the 4x champion’s Mind The Game podcast, LeBron James had a surprise. “I’m so f—ing happy and so proud to watch him [Irving] continue his growth. I’m so f—ing mad at the same time that I’m not his running mate anymore,” he had said to his co-host, JJ Redick.

Smith, for his part, was so stupefied by the whole shebang that he just couldn’t comprehend what James was getting at. “You couldn’t stand each other!” he nearly screamed, laughing all the while at the incredulity.

“LeBron comes back over the top and it’s like, ‘you know what, I really miss that guy. I know we couldn’t stand each other and he made fun of me and I made fun of him. I tried to get him traded and then when he was coming back, he made fun of my coming home song. But no no, now I really miss playing with that guy,'” he asserted on The Jason Smith Show With Mike Harmon.

Both men were gasping for air at the end of their laughing session. Clearly, they weren’t falling for anything LeBron James had to say about his former Cavs teammate. Nor were they buying his walk down the memory lane. But why?

Smith believes LeBron James is seeking attention!

With the NBA Finals so close, basketball enthusiasts are eagerly waiting for Boston, Irving, and the thrilling blockbuster the Mavs and Cs are going to provide. However, as per Jason Smith and Mike Harmon, LeBron James has other plans. “LeBron specifically, is going to have all kinds of storylines that’s going to take attention away from the NBA finals.”

They pointed out three particular Bron storylines that would likely be pushed forward. One was regarding Bronny, but it is one of the least likely. Especially if there is something far more interesting. And that something happens to be the JJ Redick head coach rumors. And yet, even that wasn’t enough for the pair, because according to Smith and Harmon, it’s as good as a done deal, a fait accompli.

So what are we left with?

Why, the potential teams that the 20x All-Star could go to! The most recent party looking to get the veteran forward is none other than the 76ers. With the No. 16 pick in their pockets, Philly has also emerged as a potential suitor for Bronny, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints. But the bigger picture is to lure the father also to their organization.

If you remember, the Sixers had made an inquiry at the trade deadline. Siegel further reported, there have been recent whispers in league circles about Philadelphia being an organization that would do what it takes to try and lure James from the Lakers.”

It was under these circumstances that the all-time leading scorer came forward with his heartfelt nostalgia about his playing days with the Dallas vet. And that can very well be a sign to add the Mavericks to a frontrunner for signing the ‘Akron Hammer’ in free agency. Or at least, that is what Smith and Harmon believe to be the case.

Do you think that to be the scenario, too? Drop your thoughts below!
