Russell Westbrook looked ready to take on the defending champions, the Denver Nuggets, in their NBA preseason encounter. The former MVP started the game with fellow co-stars Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Before going up against the Nikola Jokic-less Nuggets, Westbrook stepped on the court for a pregame warmup session. He put some shots up to get in rhythm and decided to end the warmup with a cool trick shot.

An LA Clippers mentor started trash-talking Russ after he missed his first attempt. But the trash talk soon backfired, and Westbrook silenced the assistant coach with a nasty comeback.

Ahead of the game against the Nuggets, Russell Westbrook was attempting a tough trick shot from behind the backboard near the Clippers bench. Westbrook was way off on his first attempt and hit the top of the backboard. One of the Clippers assistant coaches sat on the bench, saying, ?We good. Everybody take a seat,” gesturing that it would take Russ a long time to hit the shot. Westbrook gathered his focus and swished the tough shot in his second attempt.

The nine-time All-Star started clapping back at the assistant coach before the ball even went into the basket. ?What you good at?! “You ain’t good at s**t!? yelled Westbrook in excitement. The Clippers guard proceeded to sprint to the locker room, getting the last laugh.

He re-signed with the Clippers on a 2-year, $7.8 million deal this summer. Apart from Russ, the Clippers are heading into this season with both their superstars, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, completely healthy. Westbrook played great in last year?s playoffs in the absence of PG and Kawhi. He averaged 23.6 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists in the first round, saving the Clippers from an embarrassing performance against the Suns.
