Anthony Edwards is making up for the void Joel Embiid’s struggles created in the playoffs. After the Minnesota Timberwolves blew out the Phoenix Suns, once again, to clinch the Game 3, Antman was seen celebrating with the iconic Triple H gesture.
With less than 3 minutes left in the game, the Wolves had Phoenix beat with a 19-point lead and grips on the momentum. Edwards had just launched a full-court quarterback-like pass to a sprinting Rudy Gobert, who was about to go to the line for an and-1 lay. With that, right when the Suns felt the heat of the losing game, Edwards resorted to the DX chop celebration; all while smiling at the opposing roster and its fans.

While fans all over the globe cheer for Ant’s leadership behind the Wolves’ continued success, Edwards puts himself in a critical situation. He can be fined at least $25,000 right after the game, emulating the one suffered by Joel Embiid in January last year. The NBA cited, that Embiid was “making an obscene gesture on the playing court.”
Embiid had been repeatedly rocking Triple H’s celebration before his 2023 fine. He had garnered an image of being WWE star’s biggest NBA fan due to the same. Interestingly, Triple H utilized the shine on his iconic celebration, and hilariously asked Embiid if he can figure out an amount that could cover his season-long fines; all while offering to cut out a cheque himself.
Curious, @JoelEmbiid…
If you wrote a bigger check now, could you get a volume discount to cover the rest of the season??#IllChipIn #SuckIt https://t.co/fSNS0Csy2n— Triple H (@TripleH) January 28, 2023
As the Timberwolves are slowly becoming the most threatening team in the league, the WWE star could probably put up the same offer for Ant as well. And Edwards always unapologetically being himself, might just take it into consideration.

Anthony Edwards’ Timberwolves is the best version of the franchise
The Wolves broke multiple season records with the Game 3 win. For the first time in their franchise history, T-Wolves stand with a 3-0 separation in a playoff series. Moreover, Anthony Edwards deployed a complete destruction of Suns’ winning chances in the fourth, if there were any.
Edwards scored half of his 36 points in the final 12 minutes of the game. With that, churned out his 7th career playoff performances with 30 or more points. It makes him the first player to do so in Wolves’ history since Kevin Garnett. KG’s first 30 point game for Minnesota came in his 22nd playoff game, during 6th playoff stint with the team.

On the other hand, Edwards has already touched the record within just 14 playoff games in his career. Moreover, he has the Suns’ facing the load of the emerging out of a 0-3 hole, something that no team has ever done before. With that, when lookin at the numbers, Timberwolves can enter the second round playoff series for the second time in its existence this year.
It will also add another feather in Edwards’ hat, as it would mark a second round entry in his 3rd playoff stint; something that took Kevin Garnett 8 playoff matchups to do so.
