Did Brandin Podziemski's Mahomes jersey choice betray Warriors fans' trust after their Super Bowl heartbreak?

It’s not even been a year since the San Francisco fans suffered a heartbreak in the Super Bowl. And the main culprit behind this is none other than the Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes. Symbolically, the 29-year-old quarterback completed a 3-yard touchdown to seal the deal against the 49ers. Months later, the Bay Area fans had another heartbreak when Klay Thompson left the Warriors. Now that the Stephen Curry-led team is on a rebuild, a sophomore star rubs salt in the wounds with his affinity toward Mahomes!

We are talking about Brandin Podziemski, a 21-year-old Wisconsin native. This young guard quickly made a name for himself in the Dubs fold, especially with his magic on the defensive end. While some rookies struggle to even make it to the rotation despite their skill set, Podz has established himself under Coach Kerr’s leadership, starting 28 out of 74 games in his rookie season and averaging 9.2 ppg.

The guard, who is in the second year of his $16.2 million rookie contract, pulled up to the high-profile hoops game donning a Patrick Mahomes jersey. Strangely, the 21-year-old looked like a spitting image of the football legend himself!

After the repeated setbacks, the Warriors fold finally seemed to have brought a ray of hope to the Bay Area’s sporting legacy. The team swept the pre-season, winning all five games, and also started off the regular season on a positive note. Amid this positive situation, fans would never want to see a backtrack and that’s exactly when Podziemski pulled up with a Pat Mahomes jersey. Reacting to it, a fan wrote, “Wtf Are You Doing.” This, however, is one of the lighter comments on display.

A majority of the fans wanted Steve Kerr to take immediate action. A fan wrote, “Bench his a**” With already a stacked roster with a lot of role players, the head coach is struggling to allocate minutes to all his players. Especially after the inclusion of Buddy Hield and De’Anthony Melton, guards like Moses Moody and Podz find it difficult to get more minutes. So this fan’s request might actually work.
