Stephen Curry has grown to become the heartthrob of Oakland. The Golden State Warriors guard has given back tremendously to the community that made him the superstar he is today. In this effort, he recently made a $50,000,000 worth investment to assist the Oakland schools and families. However, the 34-year-old millionaire seems to have a philanthropic vision even in the most bizarre locations.

Stephen Curry has made it a point to give back to the community throughout the offseason. However, another activity that has thoroughly fascinated the 2-time NBA MVP is golfing. His long-running passion for the sport has prompted him to hit the golf course with every opportunity he gets. Now, the Warriors guard has found a way to intertwine the world of golfing and philanthropy, combining both his passions.

From winning the ACC to duelling against Kansas City Chiefs duo, Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes in “The Match”, Curry’s offseason has witnessed him take on several high-profile golfing events. He also found a way to give back to the community, even through his favorite sport other than basketball. His foundation “Underrated Golf” does just this.

“Underrated Golf” is an initiative Curry founded to provide equity, access, and opportunity to student-athletes of golf. This initiative has already served several student-athletes who have participated in their tournaments, even playing alongside Curry himself. However, how Curry arrived at the idea for this initiative will blow your mind.

Having people that want to be on this journey with me, yourself, the team that we have built….I wrote this idea down on just a napkin in a restaurant and to think, you know, in our second year we’re at this place and it’s pretty special man. Just to know how many kids we’ve already had access to and hopefully influenced their journey and this is just the beginning,” said Curry, talking about his noble venture.
