The Luka Doncic-Anthony Davis trade has taken over the hoop world. Some are even calling it the Trade of the Century. Of course, the Mavs fanbase is frustrated at the front office for letting go of arguably the biggest young superstar in the league. And their growing anger is becoming a cause of concern for GM Nico Harrison and owner Miriam Adelson!
Turns out, a die-hard Doncic fan by the name of Jacob Posner started a GoFundMe on Tuesday, titled ‘Dallas Deserves Better: Anti-Nico and Adelson Billboards.’ Yes, the 20-year-old’s plan is to flood Downtown Dallas with billboards against the team’s front office and ownership. Revealing his frustration about the Luka trade, Jacob said, “Think about the fans before you do something this catastrophic. We’re pretty heartbroken and we’re upset with the regime. You’re the ones who made this decision. You’re the ones who took Luka from us.”
Well, the GoFundMe has set a target of $82.6K and has already received 163 donations amounting to $3,926. That proves how much the fans despise Nico and Adelson following the shocking trade, and even their safety might be at risk because of this decision.

Moreover, many Luka loyals plan on expressing their dissatisfaction by boycotting the team. A five-year Mavs’ season ticket holder named Adam Emerson sent this e-mail after hearing about the trade, “In light of this evening’s news, we will be cancelling our full season tickets immediately.” Yes, Adam does not want to give another dime of his money to Adelson, as he said, “Personally, they won’t be getting any of my money or my time or my effort of going to the arena 41 times a year.”
He even urged the multi-billionaire owner to sell the team and go home. “We don’t want you here.” Emerson added. Of course, he was not the only fan to cancel their season tickets. But what did the Mavs have to say about these drastic actions from their fans?

Nico Harrison believes Fans’ “Frustration Will Go Away” as Mavs offer Season Ticket Refund
Amid the growing anger, the Dallas franchise did not have much to say about people cancelling their season tickets. They issued a statement saying, “Regarding refunds, we value every season ticket member relationship and reps are available to take calls from members with any concerns or questions.” Fortunately, the fans got some relief as the Mavs offered refund on the cancellations for the remaining home games, valued at $2,000.

Meanwhile, Harrison understands how people of Dallas are feeling, but is hopeful that their anger will pass, “I’m sorry they’re frustrated, but it’s something that we believe in as an organization. It’s going to make us better. We believe that it sets us up to win, not only now, but also in the future. And when we win, I believe the frustration will go away.”
Well, the only way that could happen is if Anthony Davis helps the Mavs win the championship right away. In the long term, keeping Luka was always a better option than leaving him for AD. But Harrison made the move to win now and he believes Davis is the right piece to complete the puzzle. Maybe, a title will motivate the disheartened fans to buy season tickets once again. Do you think Nico made the right call with the Luka trade?
