If there is clarity about one thing in the NBA, it’s that the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar Anthony Edwards is the next big name in the league. After all, he is the most capable anchor of his team and a beacon of hope for the fans. However, it looks like Antman has recently acquired a new hobby. Any guesses?
Well, let’s end the suspense. Anthony Edwards has picked up a knack for being fined by the NBA higher-ups. On Monday, the league announced it’s fining the young guard $25,000 for swearing during interviews after Minnesota’s Dec. 6 win over the Golden State Warriors.
ANT dropped some F-words in the locker room while talking to the media. Maybe, the excitement of defeating the Western Conference’s big force made Anthony Edwards express himself in a certain way. However, the league didn’t say exactly what the fine was for, chalking it up only to “profane language during a media interview.”

It’s the second time in a row that Edwards had to pick up a fine for using profanity. His previous one came for his actions and words vs. the Sacramento Kings. Currently running at $60000, how much more will Anthony pay for his words?
But now, the fans have started to wonder if the NBA has become ‘too soft’. Thus, coming on the heat radar of the fans, Adam Silver is facing the wrath of imposing a fine on Antman.
Fans rush in to support Anthony Edwards as the NBA Commissioner & C0. face the heat
“The NBA is a soft, woke league.” This cannot be a compliment for sure. And now that the fans have repeatedly pointed out the ‘soft’ nature of the league; it makes us wonder if the NBA has actually become too sensitive. The league has fined many players, including Anthony Edwards, Zach Collins, Jaylen Brown, and Tari Eason, prompting some to question why it penalizes players for expressing themselves.
A fan wrote,
“Bro got fined for freedom of speech,” and added three crying emojis. Well, using profanity cannot truly be an appropriate way of sharing one’s thoughts. But, they penalized him for expressing his mind? Surely Anthony Edwards didn’t want things to turn out this way. So, it’s not strange that fans are firing at the NBA Commissioner for allegedly taking away the players’ “freedom of speech.”Moreover, “This is why he didn’t talk to the media last night y’all be fining him for just talking,” someone pointed out. Following Minnesota’s defeat vs. the Warriors on Sunday, Antman refused to talk to the media. He clearly expressed he wasn’t willing to have a conversation with a fine on him for cussing. Besides, Anthony Edwards seemed considerably upset. Now it’s a mystery what he was upset about the loss, the fine, or both.
Meanwhile, a fan commented: “Ant gonna retire the most fined player in existence.” Well, well, Ben Simmons finally has a competition? And is it Anthony Edwards? Looks just like it! Just so you know, the Brooklyn Nets point guard has lost over $19 million over fines. And the way Antman’s fines trajectory is moving, will it be surprising if he surpasses Simmons? Absolutely not.
Someone asked:
“He’s been doing that for so long. Why fine him now?” Fair enough. Edwards has often been criticized for being a ‘foul-mouthed’ player. But, it seems his words are hurting the NBA officials more these days. Therefore, drawing a line of limits and emphasizing the players’ code of conduct in the league has been stricter than ever.“They’re about to fine them to bad breath, it’s the softest league present,” a fan mocked. Anthony Edwards’ profanity fine has sparked outrage among fans. They are joking that the NBA might soon fine players for bad breath. The league’s strict rules are under fire for stifling player expression.ADVERTISEMENT

Anthony Edwards’ fines have ignited debates about the NBA’s strictness and player freedom. While profanity may cross a line, fans argue the league’s penalties feel excessive and restrict expression. With Antman’s frustration growing, the tension between the audience and the league continues to escalate.
