Did Shedeur Sanders' Hail Mary just cement his legacy, or was it a one-time miracle?

Did he just do that? Well, that was most fans’ reaction during the Colorado Buffaloes vs. Baylor Bears game as Shedeur Sanders stunned everyone with a miraculous touchdown to force overtime. If the game wasn’t interesting already, the quarterback just made it happen with his final play in regulation. Sure enough, the basketball world took notice as several superstars and legends including Dwyane Wade and Dawn Staley were left in awe of Sanders’ heroics in the nail-biting encounter.

With his team down by seven points and only seconds remaining in the game, it looked like the Buffs were heading toward another Big 12 loss. But just when all hopes were lost, Sanders threw a Hail Mary 43-yard heave to teammate LaJohntay Wester. Sure enough, the wide receiver dove for the ball while surrounded by three opposing players and completed the touchdown to tie the game for one of the most iconic plays in Buffs’ football history. But the game was not over yet!

Following the miraculous play, the momentum was in Colorado’s favor and they carried it to overtime. In the opening minutes, running back Micah Welsh shocked Baylor with his second touchdown of the night. After being down in regulation, the Buffs finally gained the lead when it mattered the most as the score read 38-31 in their favor.

With Baylor under pressure to make a comeback, the Buffs pulled off another great defensive play as they forced Dominic Richardson to fumble the ball at the one-yard line. Hence, Colorado sealed a historic victory, thanks to Shedeur’s clutch heroics. And the basketball world couldn’t stop talking about it!

While the game was a thriller from start to finish, the highlight of the night was definitely Sanders’ game-tying pass in regulation. And Heat legend Dwyane Wade was left speechless as he tweeted nothing but fire emojis for the iconic play. However, he did have something to say about the game he just witnessed, “This Baylor vs. Colorado game is amazing.”

 

Meanwhile, legendary South Carolina coach Dawn Staley couldn’t stop singing praises of the Buffaloes star, “Oh my world… Shedeur Sanders you too are darn good! Goodness!!!!” And NFL legend Shannon Sharpe was left with a shellshocked reaction, “WOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWW!!!!”

Not only them, but Shedeur even impressed media veteran Skip Bayless who recently announced his departure from Fox Sports as he made a video saying, “All I know is I’d take him first overall in the draft… This kid Shedeur Sanders is as mentally and physically clutch tough as you will find. He can move, maybe not like his daddy, but he can move.” Then, he mocked Shedeur’s critics who raised eyebrows at his flashy lifestyle and $5.1 million NIL valuation, and put the NFL on notice, “I’m talking first overall pick. NFL, are you watching this kid?”

Even the fans chimed in on the praise as one wrote, “Shedeur Sanders is a stud WHAT A GAME!” If you didn’t believe in his talent before, tonight’s game against Baylor would have definitely changed many people’s opinions about the quarterback.
