Stephen Curry—a hero to fans, a nightmare to rivals. The 4x NBA champ loves his supporters, and that’s no secret. But mess with his fans, especially kids, and you’ll see Steph fired up. That’s exactly what happened at Target Center on Saturday after the Warriors vs. Wolves clash.
Curry was a happy man at the end of the game. A much-need win and a much-awaited performance from the Baby-Faced Assassin. It didn’t take him a lot of time to turn Minnesota’s arena into his home arena as fans from both sides huddled up just to catch a glimpse of the NBA star. Keeping up with his rituals, Curry took his $3.7 billion project off his feat. Simply put, Stephen Curry took off his Under Armour shoes to give them to his fans.
Someone in the audience was recording everything. Steph threw one of the shoes to a faraway gallery and one right in front of him for a kid to take. But well, a middle-aged person, donning a Timberwolves hat, bent over the barricades to get the shoes which infuriated Curry. Stephen could see the disappointment on the child’s face, as the crowd also sided with the Warriors star demanding the person to give the shoe back to the little one in the crowd. “Hey, bro! Yo, give it to him!” Curry screamed with all his might. It was clear that Saturday night’s 113-103 win hero wasn’t happy at all.

Thus, Stephen Curry went all overprotective of his fans. Seeing him this animated around fans is a rare sight, but given the circumstances, his irritation is understandable. Nothing riles up athletes more than witnessing adults overshadowing moments meant for their youngest and most dedicated admirers.
Hopefully, the shoes in question ended up where Curry wanted them.

What’s your perspective on:
Is Stephen Curry the ultimate fan hero, or was his reaction at Target Center over the top?
Have an interesting take?
Almost a decade ago, someone tried stealing Stephen Curry’s game-worn sneakers
Well, this won’t be the first time that someone’s tried to take away Stephen Curry’s game-worn signed sneakers. Back in December 2016, after the Warriors‘ game against the Utah Jazz, the then-28-year-old Curry took his sneakers off and signed them. He sat on the bench and signed the pair to give them to a kid in the stands. However, there was someone who stepped in and tried to steal the signed pair!
There was a bit of a scuffle where security had to step in. But luckily, the shoes were retrieved and given to the little fan, who also got to fist bump with his idol. That day as well, Stephen Curry has scored a game-high of 26 points. Kevin Durant was on the team back in 2016, and he registered a double-double along with Draymond Green. This time, neither KD is on the team nor Green on the court due to injury. But the rest is more or less the same. So, it’s like history repeating itself!

Angry Steph is a rare sight. So, when that side shows up remember that things are pretty serious. Moreover, messing with his fans will lead you to face his wrath. Therefore, being respectful is the only way to take around the NBA icon. Besides, it’s always a delight seeing Curry around his fans. The love he gives to them, he gets back tenfold, and we ain’t surprised knowing all too well, that the superstar will go miles to protect them.
