Did Curry's emotional outburst signal a new era for the Warriors without Klay Thompson?

Those who didn’t watch the Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks, man, you just missed a treat. Yes, the narrative focused on Klay Thompson’s return to the Chase Center with all the captain hats flying around. But my god, Stephen Curry. You defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder and now this? One must wonder if the Warriors will win the NBA title. Speaking of the game with moments, there was one notable one.

We probably saw a different version of Curry in the game. A man who had something to prove. One man who wanted to welcome Thompson in the best way possible by claiming a victory. Curry wanted to go all guns blazing, and he certainly did in the fourth quarter.

When the clock ticked down to 26.4, and the scores remained 114-115, he received a switched matchup to Dereck Lively II. With that switch, we knew Dereck was going for a dance. He carried out some dribbling moves and took a step back 3…. bang, referring to Mike Breen. The player then bumped into his teammates and, in the end, hollered some words in front of the camera. When you saw him doing that, the pure emotion ran through his eyes. It seems he had to prove something and finally achieved what he set out for. But fans are curious. What did he actually say? The reporters asked him about it.

“I really have no idea. I gotta go look at myself…..it was raw emotion, I really don’t know what I said. I’ll let you know though…I have to go look at it again,” mentioned Curry, joking with the interviewers.

The scream with such passion was something we had never seen from the 4x champion before. As a fan, I have tried to transcribe it. Fans came on X with various opinions, trying to decode those golden words.

Fans try to decode Stephen Curry’s jaw-dropping shot reaction!

Have an interesting take?

There were many of them, but one seemed pretty accurate. Do note that these were just random encryptions that the users thought sounded the same. The user mentioned, “This my sh*t now, you didn’t want to stay here? Allegedly.” With Klay gone, this probably became the one translation that seemed correct. With a point to prove, Curry couldn’t contain himself and probably wanted to keep the Warriors at bay amidst Klay’s presence.

“Need a professional lip reader asap gotta know what he was saying,” stated one user, giving up on decoding what he said. It’s difficult with the cameras switching here and there, with Curry jubilant after hitting his shot. He scored 37 points today, shooting 5 crucial three-pointers today. It certainly was an MVP-caliber performance.

Another user mentioned, “You were supposed to stay here”👀💀”, which probably meant he missed having Klay play on the team. Yet, Klay tried to stay with the Warriors. The franchise offered him a 2-year, $48 million contract. Klay, though, felt it was not a suitable contract presented to a legend. Nevertheless, Dallas capitalized as they poached him up for a 3-year, $50 million contract.

Another user mentioned the same, “This my sh*t now, you didn’t want to stay here, you didn’t want to stay here!” while another posted, “I thought he said “who built this sh*t here” “who built this sh*t here” “I built this sh*t here”.

It became a treasure hunt for words to explain what Stephen Curry said. Hopefully, he recognizes what he said because of the pure emotions displayed in the game, and simply because we as fans want to know Mr. Stephen Curry!
