Draymond Green is notorious for his explosive reactions on the court. One such incident recently has cost him five suspensions. The funny thing is that he didn’t even start the scuffle but took matters into his own hands, and now he has to pay the price. Things got heated during the Warriors‘ Wednesday game against the T-Wolves?between Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels.
Rudy Gobert stepped in to pull Thompson away, but Draymond immediately sprung into action and scooped Gobert away in a chokehold. As a result, Draymond, Thompson, and McDaniels were instantly ejected from the game. The league then deliberated on the matter and decided to suspend Draymond from five games without pay.

During an interview, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst pointed out that Draymond’s suspension was more significant because of his past transgressions. He also says that the Executive VP and Head of Basketball Operations of the league, Joe Dumars, was among those who made the decision. Joe also shares a close relationship with Draymond, to the point of being a “father figure” to him.
This did not stop him from issuing the suspension verdict. Before this, Draymond had been suspended four times, three by the league and one by the Warriors. Despite this, the Warriors still gave him $100 million in the off-season. However, Brian said, “Going forward, Draymond needs to be aware that he will not be treated the same as everybody else.” Draymond’s $100 million contract with the Warriors looks bleak, and Draymond will most definitely take a substantial financial hit.
