The Pacers are on a roll. 6 game winning streak, a dominating road win over one of the East’s best, and a team that’s feeling good. Fans are getting bold. But as the Pacers prepare to face the Cavs again, there’s a problem. Let’s just say the injury report is getting more attention than the scoreboard.
Tyrese Haliburton, the heartbeat of the offense, may not play tonight. Can they keep the momentum without their All-Star?

Haliburton is now officially listed as doubtful for tonight’s game with left hamstring tightness. Haliburton and the issue surfaced in a 108-93 win over Cleveland last night, in which the rookie played just 19 minutes before being done. He was not without a performance, scoring two points on 1-of-5 shooting, leaving the team in need of others to lean on.

In the last game, Andrew Nembhard showed up when Haliburton was out, tallying 19 points, four assists, and two steals. Thomas Bryant knocked down his usual open three — perfect 5 of 5 — and overall was a perfect Myles Turner: double-double. Cleveland had just come as the hottest team in the NBA but the Pacers collectively outperformed them and handed the Cavs their second home loss of the season.
But that doesn’t mean Haliburton’s absence isn’t a big deal. Under his guidance, the Pacers’ offense rocks—he’s scoring 18.1 points and dishing out 8.8 assists a game this season. Losing their playmaking and efficiency to a Cavaliers team seething for another revenge win isn’t ideal. Haliburton isn’t the only one on the sidelines, however. Besides being injured, Isaiah Jackson (torn right Achilles tendon), Aaron Nesmith (left ankle sprain), and James Wiseman (torn left Achilles tendon) are off the Indiana injury report. It will show if the Pacers have the depth or the resilience to survive it. Let’s take a look at the pacers’ depth chart.
PG | Tyrese Haliburton DD | T.J. McConnell | Andrew Nembhard |
SG | Andrew Nembhard | Ben Sheppard | Johnny Furphy |
SF | Bennedict Mathurin | Jarace Walker | Johnny Furphy |
PF | Pascal Siakam | Obi Toppin | Jarace Walker |
C | Myles Turner | Thomas Bryant | Obi Toppin |

Can the Pacers maintain their momentum?
The injuries aren’t stopping Indiana from rising to the occasion. Last night’s victory wasn’t all about individual brilliance, it was about a team effort. The Pacers scored in double figures from six players and overhauled the script in the second half outscoring Cleveland 68-40.
Cleveland, featuring Darius Garland, Donovan Mitchell, and Evan Mobley, wasn’t going to surrender that easily. And they’ll want to get the chance to avenge a rare home loss and pick up momentum. Beyond extending their streak tonight, the Pacers would love to use this game to show their resilience and versatility in the face of adversity.

But how a team responds to injuries is always part of the season, and the teams that do best in response to such are always identified in the trajectory of the season. Indiana’s resiliency will be tested tonight. Can they keep up their fiery streak and stay afloat without Haliburton? With the home crowd behind them, the Pacers have the opportunity to send a message: It’s not just about one player on this team. If Haliburton suits up, Indiana will have a chance to prove they’re one of the East’s best regardless. The stakes are big, and everybody is watching. Let’s see how they respond.
