Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat Injury Report – will Tyler Herro play tonight?

There’s good news and bad news when it comes to Tyler Herro’s status ahead of the Miami Heat game. Let’s start with the bad news. The injury report marks Herro as QUESTIONABLE with a stomach illness as the culprit. But the good news for you Miami fans is that he was listed as such before the OKC Thunder game. And he played 32 minutes in that game. So in all likelihood, Herro will be on the court against the Dallas Mavericks. That said, let’s see who else is on the injury report.

  • Josh Christopher – OUT (G League; Two-way)
  • Jamie Jaquez Jr. – QUESTIONABLE (Stomach; Illness)
  • Keshad Johnson – OUT (G League; Two-way)
  • Kevin Love – OUT (Personal Reasons)
  • Duncan Robinson – QUESTIONABLE (Stomach; Illness)
  • Terry Rozier – QUESTIONABLE (Stomach; Illness)
  • Dru Smith – OUT (Left Achilles; Surgery)
  • Isaiah Stevens – OUT (G League; Two-way)

As you can probably tell, there seems to be a stomach bug going around the Miami locker room. However, it’s probably nothing serious since not all afflicted players missed the OKC game. That said, Dru Smith will miss the Mavericks game as he recovers from his surgery. So will Kevin Love, since he is out for personal reasons. This also happened in November last year, but it’s unclear whether the causes of both absences are the same.

As for the Dallas Mavericks, well, they are faced with a unique predicament. All of their options are center are out with injuries. However, that didn’t stop them from beating the Golden State Warriors. Nevertheless, let’s have a look at their injury report and see who’ll play in the Miami game.

  • Daniel Gafford – OUT (Right knee; Sprain)
  • Dante Exum – QUESTIONABLE (Left Achilles; Tightness)
  • Dereck Lively II – OUT (Right Ankle; Stress Fracture)
  • Anthony Davis – OUT (Left Adductor; Strain)
  • Caleb Martin – OUT (Right Hip; Strain)
  • Dwight Powell – OUT (Right Hip; Strain)
  • PJ Washington – QUESTIONABLE (Right Ankle; Sprain)

Their woes at center aside, the Mavericks aren’t missing too many players. However, having to improvise after losing all their big men in one fell swoop is quite the nerf to the Mavericks’ capabilities. Even so, let’s see how they may line up against the Heat.

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Mavericks overcome their center crisis, or will the Heat's Herro steal the show?

Miami Heat vs Dallas Mavericks – predicted starting lineups and depth chart

The Mavericks had to play Kessler Edwards as their center for the Golden State Warriors game. While he did a serviceable job against the struggling Dubs, he will need to step up his game massively against Miami. Regardless, we don’t see the lineup changing for the Mavs, so here’s how they’ll likely look against the Heat:

The Miami Heat are more than likely to have most of their ailing players back in the squad to take on the Mavericks. Even if they don’t, it’s virtually a guarantee that Tyler Herro and Jamie Jaquez will be available for the Mavs game. This is the lineup they may use for the Mavericks game:

Given the crazy situation the Mavs are dealing with in their front court, we’d say the Heat has this one in the bag. Especially after losing their last game to the OKC Thunder, Miami will play like they have something to prove against the Mavericks. Make sure you tune in for this East vs West showdown!
