“As long as we’re on the floor, we got a chance” said Draymond Green, when describing the partnership between him and Stephen Curry earlier this year. Having been teammates for over 12 years now, the duo, along with Klay Thompson, had ushered in the golden era of the Bay Area franchise. Even as Thompson left, the duo looked to lead the team to another championship season with their consistent presences. However, recent threats emerged after both players developed different injury complications earlier this month. With the Warriors now set to go up against Klay Thompson and the Mavericks squad, one would hope that both players would be there for the game. Unfortunately, in light of the recent update, it seems that the hope may not convert to reality.
Recently, the official X account of Underdog NBA gave an update on the Warriors’ Injury Report. According to it, Stephen Curry has now been listed as ‘Questionable’ for the upcoming Mavericks matchup. He holds the same status as Andrew Wiggins. The small forward’s ankle troubles kept him out of the previous game against the Houston Rockets. Meanwhile, Moses Moody’s knee troubles has caused him to be declared ‘OUT’. Draymond Green is fortunately nowhere close to the Injury Report. Despite this, the Warriors will be going into the upcoming matchup without being at their full strength. An absence by Stephen Curry will further complicate things.

Stephen Curry (back) listed questionable for Sunday.

It was only a few weeks ago when Stephen Curry was sidelined for two games after sustaining an ankle injury. Just as that trouble seemed to behind him, the NBA Three-Point Leader sustained a bilateral knee ailment. This time, it is a reported inflammation on the right side of his neck that has caused him to make a return to the Injury Report. The ailment is serious enough to place the player under a ‘Questionable’ status. However, the Dallas Mavericks are no mere rivals. Therefore, whether Curry will be present or not will ultimately be a game-time decision. Fortunately, Draymond Green’s previous troubles with his left calf tightness seems to be behind him. Therefore, no matter what happens, at least the power forward will be there to give his old teammate a tough competition.
Speaking of the Dallas Mavericks, their injury troubles will continue to haunt them against the Warriors too. Nothing has changed from their previous matchup against the OKC. After all, the squad continues to have 5 players listed on the report. Maxi Kleber, who had been consistent with his appearances earlier, missed the OKC game due to an unspecified illness. Now, however, he has sustained a fractured rib. Naji Marshall will be ‘OUT’ due to an illness again, while Jaden Hardy will miss another game due to an ankle ailment. Dante Exum, who hasn’t played even a single game this season, continues to recover from his right wrist ailment.
In light of these updates, both teams will have to make adjustments to their starting lineups.

If Stephen Curry becomes unavailable for the upcoming game, then Brandin Podziemski can receive some increased playing time. Having played at least for around 24.9 minutes per game, and averaged only 7.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists in 23 games, Podziemski may not be enough to cover for the Warriors. Therefore, Bay Area fans can hope that others like Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, and Buddy Hield manage the offensive. In light of this update, the starting lineup for the Golden State Warriors may look like this:
POSITION | STARTER | 2ND | 3RD | 4TH | 5TH |
PG | Stephen Curry (Questionable) | Dennis Schroder (Day-To-Day) | Brandin Podziemski | Moses Moody (OUT) | Reece Beekman |
