The Denver Nuggets will attempt to stretch their 7-game winning streak to 8 against the Portland Trail Blazers. The two teams will face each other in the second game of their back-to-back this Wednesday. Three losses to end last month seemingly ignited a new spark within the Nuggets. And their best player, without a doubt, has been their center, Nikola Jokic.
Jokic is averaging a triple-double this season with 29.8 points, 12.5 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game. It’s hard to argue his status as the best player in the NBA right now. But will the ‘Joker’ be backing up the Nuggets against the Blazers?

The injury report for the Nuggets’ upcoming game against Portland is in! And there are a fair few players listed for Denver. But we’d wager you’re most concerned about Jokic. Well, you can put those fears to rest now.
Nikola Jokic is NOT on the injury report for the Portland game. That means he’s available to play and will lace his sneakers in proceedings on Wednesday. But we cannot say the same for his teammate and fellow European, Vlatko Cancar. He is OUT as he recovers from the knee surgery he underwent in December last year.
In a similar vein, DaRon Holmes II is also OUT after having his Achilles tendon repaired. He is set to return next season. Someone the Nuggets will sorely miss is the resurgent Russell Westbrook. Russ is out dealing with a strained left hamstring. Peyton Watson, who hasn’t played since the Sixers game earlier this year, is also OUT of the Portland game with a knee sprain.
Injury Report ahead of tomorrow’s game against the Trail Blazers:
PROBABLE:
Aaron Gordon (Right Calf Injury Management)
Jamal Murray (Left Knee Inflammation)QUESTIONABLE:
Michael Porter Jr. (Left Hamstring Strain)OUT:

Aside from the players who are out, Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray are PROBABLE for the Portland game. Murray has an inflamed knee while Gordon has issues with his right calf that may lead to him being rested. However, they will probably both play against the Blazers.
Unlike them, Michael Porter Jr. is QUESTIONABLE for the Nuggets’ upcoming game due to a hamstring strain. This is not the worst-case scenario for Denver when it comes to injuries, but it’s certainly not the best. That said, let’s look at how Denver may line up against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Denver Nuggets – predicted starting lineup and depth chart
The Denver Nuggets hope Jamal Murray’s knee issue resolves itself before it’s game time at the Ball Arena. After all, he is putting up 20 points a game this season. And this sentiment holds doubly true because Michael Porter Jr. probably won’t be available to ease Nikola Jokic’s offensive burden on Wednesday. Provided Murray does play through injury, here’s how the Nuggets may lineup against the Blazers:
POSITION | STARTER | 2nd UNIT | 3rd UNIT |
PG | Jamal Murray (DD) | Jalen Pickett | Trey Alexander |
SG | Julian Strawther | Christian Braun | Jalen Pickett |
SF | Christian Braun | Julian Strawther | Hunter Tyson |
PF | Aaron Gordon (DD) | Zeke Nnaji | Julian Strawther |
C | Nikola Jokic | Zeke Nnaji | DeAndre Jordan |

The Denver Nuggets blew the Blazers out 146-117 in the first game of the back-to-back. We expect the rematch to go the same way as the lineup barely changed for this game. However, if players like Aaron Gordon and Jamal Murray can’t recover in time, the odds will shift in the Blazers’ favor.
Even with Nikola Jokic playing. Nonetheless, this match will be fun to watch whichever way the wind blows!
