The Kings have received a blow with the dismissal of head coach Mike Brown in the middle of the season. However, the show must go on. They will head to Crypto.com Arena to face their Western rivals, the Lakers. While the Sacramento side is already weakened, the Lakers aren’t in a much better position, as LeBron James and Anthony Davis have yet to be cleared from their injury report.
Lakers vs. Kings Injury Report
How head coach JJ Redick will manage to lead the Lakers against the Kings remains a major question, considering the team’s lengthy injury list, which includes two of their stars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Both missed Friday’s practice and have been listed as questionable. AD is dealing with a sprained left ankle, while LeBron has registered his name on the report because of an illness.

AD was last seen leaving the previous game against the Warriors early in the opening quarter after playing just 7 minutes, following a twisted ankle. Meanwhile, LeBron led the team with a strong 31-point, 4-rebound, 10-assist performance in that game.

Also joining the questionable list are Rui Hachimura and Jaxson Hayes. The latter is recovering from a right ankle sprain, while Hachimura is battling an illness. The other player with a slim chance of suiting up is D’Angelo Russell. The point guard was dealing with a left thumb sprain that kept him out of the last game. He is now listed as probable, as per Dave McMenamin’s report.
The franchise will be closely monitoring all of them before finalizing their status. For now, what’s confirmed is that Jalen Hood-Schifino, Jarred Vanderbilt, and Christian Wood will remain ruled out. Jalen is recovering from a left hamstring strain, while Vando is yet to return from his right foot surgery. Wood had a left knee surgery which kept him sidelined.
On the other hand, the only player on the Kings’ injury report is Domantas Sabonis, who is dealing with an illness that kept him out of the matchup against the Pistons. On the brighter side, the 28-year-old participated in the shootaround earlier today and is listed as questionable for tonight’s game. With that in mind, let’s take a closer look at the depth charts of both teams to get a clearer picture of their possible rotations.

Now that we have looked at the potential depth chart, let’s explore more about the upcoming matchup.
Lakers potentially missing LeBron James and Anthony Davis could favor hapless Kings
The Lakers have clearly had the upper hand over the Kings this season, winning three of their previous matchups. This will be the final regular-season meeting between the two sides, and the Purple and Gold will be looking to extend their winning streak to four on Saturday night, hoping to capitalize on the Kings’ struggles. However, the question remains, how much of that will be possible without LeBron James and Anthony Davis?

The uncertainty surrounding LeBron and AD’s status, along with how the Kings will approach the game, definitely adds to the intrigue. With Mike Brown out of the picture, assistant coach Doug Christie will step in to take over as the interim head coach, further raising the stakes for this matchup.
Their absence would undoubtedly benefit the Kings, who are currently sitting at a 13-18 record. The Lakers have been vulnerable without LeBron and Davis and will be hoping for their return. But what happens if they don’t? Tune in at 10:30 PM ET to see how this Western Conference clash unfolds tonight.
