The season hasn’t gone exactly as Jamal Murray envisioned. There has been a big question mark on his consistency, to which he admitted, “I take full accountability.” However, the Nuggets need him to unleash his outstanding skills alongside Nikola Jokic, especially tonight at Ball Arena against the Clippers, when all eyes will be on the home team. The Nuggets will be looking to bounce back after failing to secure a victory against the Western underdogs last time. But the biggest question is, will Jamal Murray suit up on Friday night?
Nuggets Injury Report
Jamal Murray was last seen a week ago at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, playing against the Cavaliers, where he sustained a hamstring injury. But fortunately, the 27-year-old guard attended practice on Wednesday and worked on his long-range shots.

According to Bennett Durando of The Denver Post, head coach Michael Malone said after practice, “He was able to go through portions of practice today, which was great to have him out there.” Sounding optimistic about Murray’s progress, Malone added, “He got some good work in yesterday in terms of treatment and player development. And then we’ll see how he feels from his work today.” Regarding the Canadian’s status for the next game, the HC mentioned, “I’d say for Friday night, he’s still going to be listed as questionable.” The team will continue to observe his condition before finalizing their roster.
Besides Murray, Christian Braun and Aaron Gordon are listed as probable. Braun joined the list due to a right quad contusion, while Gordon was dealing with right calf inflammation. Meanwhile, the others have been ruled out.
The Nuggets were satisfied to see Vlatko Cancar return after missing the previous season due to a torn left ACL. However, just four games into the new season, the Slovenian had to leave again. This time, it’s due to arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, which is keeping him sidelined. Dario Saric‘s has also been scratched from the roster after spraining his left ankle. Even before starting his rookie season, DaRon Holmes had to sit out after tearing his right Achilles tendon in July.
Clippers Injury Report
The good news for the Clippers is that James Harden and Mohamed Bamba have both been cleared from the injury list. On the flip side, five players remain ruled out. The first one on the list is Clippers star Kawhi Leonard who has not fully recovered from his knee injury. However, HC Ty Lue has expressed optimism about his return.
Terance Mann has missed two consecutive games and will miss a third tonight because of a fractured left middle finger. Next on the list is Kobe Brown, who is dealing with a herniated disc. He is expected to be evaluated next week, after which a clearer update will be provided. Derrick Jones Jr. will also sit out of the matchup due to a hamstring injury, while PJ Tucker is taking a personal break and will not appear this season.
Having discussed the lengthy injury lists on both sides, let’s dive into the teams’ depth charts.

Regular Season Head to Head

The Clippers may have an edge over the Nuggets in the last two seasons, winning 4 of their 6 matchups, but they still can’t match the overall regular season record that the Nuggets hold (108-87). LA has extended its winning streak to four after winning both games this season, and with Harden and Co., they’ll be looking to maintain that consistency.
However, the Nuggets cannot be underestimated. After all, they are the reigning champions. With Jokic’s remarkable stability on both ends of the floor and Murray’s spectacular shooting, it will be difficult to hold Denver back. They haven’t found the right rhythm that they had in the 2022-2023 season but there can be any doubt on their chemistry. If Murray at all appears tonight. Who do you think will snatch the win tonight? Let’s find out the answer at 9 PM ET .
