The Denver Nuggets have dropped a notch. Yes! Denver boasts an impressive 43-24 record this season that sees them as the second seed in a stacked Western Conference. However, in recent weeks the Nuggets have gotten a bit complacent and are 6-4 in their last ten games. They’ve recently dropped games against OKC and the Timberwolves. However, a victory over the Lakers last night should have given them the much-needed confidence boost for their next matchup. The Nuggets are hosting the Washington Wizards tonight at the Ball Arena.

Well, the Wizards are dead last in the East. However, three months ago they stunned the Nuggets. Denver’s main man, Nikola Jokic saw his career-high 56 points amount to nothing! As Washington grabbed a rare win against a top team. So, The Joker will have revenge on his mind with the Wizards in town. However, he’ll need some help from his teammates this time around to ensure they don’t get caught off guard. Especially, point guard Jamal Murray will have to step up alongside Jokic. However, both of these superstars have had some concerns over their fitness. So, will Jokic and Murray play on two consecutive nights?

Denver Nuggets injury report as they look to get back-t0-back wins tonight

The Nuggets are playing in the second leg of back-to-back games tonight. They are up against a lowly Wizards’ side who are 15th in the Eastern Conference with a poor 14-51 record. So, the Nuggets HC might think of resting some of his starters tonight and get them ready for the upcoming games. This brings us to one question: will we see Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray on the court tonight? Starting with the star big man, Jokic. Yes, Jokic is all set to play tonight as he’s not on Denver’s injury report at the moment. He’s been instrumental in his team this season yet again.

So much so that he’s averaging a triple-double! Jokic is averaging 29 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 10.3 assists per game. That’s just superhuman! Whenever he’s on the court, Denver looks almost unbeatable, especially against a rebuilding team like the Wizards. Moreover, he’ll have plenty of motivation for tonight’s matchup and look to get a dominating win for his team. Moving on to the Nuggets’ other superstar, Jamal Murray. The point guard has struggled with knee injuries this and missed a few games due to the same. However, he’s going to play in tonight’s back-to-back action.

This is another huge boost for the Nuggets as they look to build some momentum. Murray has been impressive averaging 21.5 points while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. However, Denver still won’t be at their very best as they will miss a couple of players due to injuries. The Nuggets will be without their young guard Julian Strawther. The 22-year-old is out for tonight’s game after suffering a knee injury. He’s set to be re-evaluated in four weeks and then there will be an update on his fitness. Before his unfortunate injury, Strawther was having a solid season.

The youngster was averaging 9.4 points with 2.2 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game and was a handy player for his team. The other player missing from Denver’s selection will be big man DaRon Holmes II. He has suffered an Achilles injury and is far from recovery. However, Holmes II has been able to return to portions of practice, which is some good news. So, despite missing Holmes II and Strawther, the Nuggets will be happy with Jokic and Murray’s availability for this back-to-back game. But, you might be thinking, will there be some changes in their lineup or will it remain unchanged?

Ultimately, the Nuggets look like the clear favorites heading into this game. With Jokic and Murray among their ranks, no one can say that the Wizards could get a positive result tonight. If they want to stand any chance of winning tonight point guard, Jordan Poole will have to be at the center of it. Having said that, it will still be an uphill battle for Washington. As everyone will he hoping to see a Joker special at the Ball Arena tonight.
