Things aren’t looking good for the Milwaukee Bucks right about now. They’re 2-3 in their last 5 games (yup!). But that’s not the worrying bit. No, the worrying part is that they’re constantly without their stars. And now, ahead of their upcoming showdown against the Knicks, fans are once again worried about Giannis Antetokounmpo. Why?

That’s because he missed the Bucks’ last game against the Denver Nuggets due to injury. Milwaukee lost that game by 10 points. Since Milwaukee is without the likes of Bobby Portis Jr and Damian Lillard already, not having Giannis would be a massive blow. So, let’s see what the injury report ahead of the New York Knicks game has to say.

Milwaukee Bucks Injury Report – Will Giannis Antetokounmpo play against the Knicks?

Giannis missed the Denver Nuggets matchup on Wednesday because of a foot injury. This was the Bucks’ 6th loss in 10 games; that’s not a record anyone would envy. So it’s safe to say the ‘Brew City’ needs him now more than ever.

However, Bucks fans, you might want to sit down as you read what we have to say next. Giannis Antetokounmpo is marked as QUESTIONABLE on the Bucks’ latest injury report. His appearance in the Knicks game will likely be a game-time decision for Doc Rivers. However, Milwaukee will probably have him play through the injury rather than risk the possibility of having to go through the play-in tournament.

Aside from Giannis, there are three other players on the injury report for the Knicks game. Two of them are the stars we mentioned above: Damian Lillard and Bobby Portis Jr. They are both OUT of the Knicks game. Bobby is still serving his 25-game suspension. On the other hand, Lillard is out indefinitely with a blood clot in his calf.

What’s your perspective on:

Can the Bucks survive the playoffs without Giannis, or is another early exit inevitable?

Have an interesting take?

The final player on the injury report for the Bucks is their big man, Jericho Sims. He has a sprained right thumb that will keep him OUT of the Knicks game. The Bucks have said that he will be back in time for the playoffs. That’s at least one piece of good news, no?

And that’s that for the Bucks’ injured personnel. While the ‘Badger State’ don’t have too many players who are out injured, the quality of the players who are out is what’s concerning. And that raises a huge question for the team heading into the playoffs.

Are the Milwaukee Bucks headed for another playoff disaster?

Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks became NBA champions in 2021. But ever since, it’s been one disappointing postseason after another for Milwaukee and its fans. And from the looks of it, their trajectory this season doesn’t look any different, if we’re being honest.

It’s not just the fact that one of their most crucial players, Damian Lillard, is out. No, what makes it worse is that they must face teams like the Cavs or the Boston Celtics, who have many superstars who can carry the team on any given night.

However, it’s a different situation here in Milwaukee. They only have the ‘Greek Freak’ and, to a lesser extent, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis Jr. to count on. Now that’s not to say these three can’t get the job done for Milwaukee. But it’s clear that Giannis does most of the heavy lifting. In the last 10 games alone, Lopez and Portis Jr. averaged 16.8 and 14.1 points, respectively, while Antetokounmpo scored 27.6 points any given night.

Last season was the perfect example of a Milwaukee team having to make do without Giannis. Despite Dame and Khris Middleton putting the team on their backs, the Bucks crashed out in the first round against the Indiana Pacers within 6 games.

And even though Brook Lopez has been phenomenal in his last few games, will it really be enough to compensate for the loss of Dame? Moreover, Giannis may be able to carry them against teams like the Pistons or even the Pacers, but what about teams like the aforementioned Celtics, who have bona fide superstars in every position? Or those 10 teams left in the regular season against whom they’re yet to get a win, like the Suns and Knicks.

The simple answer to the question we posed is, probably. Barring a generational playoff Jimmy Butler-like performance from the ‘Greek Freak,’ the Bucks are probably headed for another early playoff exit. But let us know if you disagree!
