Even though the NBA season is still months away, Bronny James is here! The 19YO is all set to don the purple and gold colors to represent the LA Lakers at the annual NBA Summer League. He is going to be wearing his #9 jersey and start his journey in the summers before he spends the majority of his time later in the G League.

Bronny is a part of the Lakers’ roster, representing the Las Vegas and California Classic summer leagues. He’s going to be playing along with other rookies, who are all ready to set the tone early in their careers. For obvious reasons, this is going to be one of the most-watched games in the Summer League, with the first match scheduled tonight against the Sacramento Kings.

And it’s not just Bronny who is going to start his journey, but also the first-round pick, Dalton Knecht, and recently signed forward Blake Hinson are all a part of the Summer League roster. They will face off against the Kings tonight, a contest in which the 19-year-old James is likely to feature.

No active players from last year’s roster will take part in the Summer League. This means the NBA fraternity will have to wait for the regular season to see both Bronny and LeBron James co-exist on the same floor. Even then, this opportunity will allow fans to evaluate the coming prospects and how effective they will be in the NBA.

Bronny James and the Lakers have three games lined up in the California Classic. Following tonight’s game against the Sacramento Kings, they will play the Golden State Warriors tomorrow. After that, they will butt heads with the Miami Heat on July 10 before traveling to Las Vegas for the NBA 2K25 Summer League from July 12-22. All the California Classic games will be held at the Chase Center, the home arena of the Golden State Warriors.

Does this mean he won’t play with LeBron James at all this season? Well, not exactly. Wojnarowski reports that Bronny James could spend the opening week of the season as part of the Lakers. They will ensure LeBron James has his moment with his son before sending him t the G League to play for the South Bay Lakers.

This is a common practice among newer prospects and ensures sound development without having to encounter the pressure and attention the NBA has on the youngster.
