The Minnesota Timberwolves will be hitting the road to face off against the Detroit Pistons. This is the first time the two teams will meet each other as we gear up for this cross-conference matchup. Furthermore, Minnesota enters this one with a defeat in their recent clash against the Celtics after they fell short in a close 118-115 affair at home on Thursday.

On the other hand, the Pistons are in red-hot form winning five of their last six games. They most recently defeated the Hornets 98-94  as they took their season record to 16-18. One question on every Wolves fan’s mind is whether Anthony Edwards will suit up for this game or not. Well, he will given that at the moment he’s not on Minnesota’s injury report.

So far this season, Edwards has been the Wolves’ leader in terms of scoring averaging an impressive 24.5 points along with 5.6 rebounds and four assists per game. However, despite Anthony’s efforts the Wolves offense has been struggling as of late and are in a serious need of elevated play from players other than Edwards and veteran Julius Randle.

The Wolves also have some injury concerns to go with their offensive issues. They will be without a few of their rotational pieces as they look to get back to winning ways from back-to-back defeats. They will be without rookie Rob Dillingham who is out with an ankle injury and will return in one-to-two weeks. Dillingham has had a bit of a rough start to life in the NBA as he has only managed to average 3.7 points and 1.7 assists in his rookie season so far.

Simultaneously, forward Josh Minott could also be absent from tonight’s affair against the Pistons. He is listed as questionable for the matchup due to an illness and therefore will be a game-day decision. Lastly, center Luka Garza will remain on the sidelines with an ankle injury against the Pistons.

Although the Timberwolves will be without a few of their players, their starting lineup could remain the same given their key players a fit. Julius Randle and Anthony Edwards will retain their respective places in the five, and Randle will try to keep up his scoring form after netting 27 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists against the Celtics.

Overall, both squads face each other for the first time and this will be an interesting affair.
