The Los Angeles Lakers lost their fourth match this season. The Jimmy Butler-led Miami Heat managed a not-so-convincing victory against LeBron James and co. With this loss, they dropped to the ninth position. Things are not going as planned for the Lakers. Anthony Davis, who is averaging 26.3 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 3.7 blocks per game, is suffering an injury. He looked uncomfortable throughout the match, leaving the Lakers tensed. He subbed himself off twice during the match. Even after his return for the third time, he was not looking very comfortable.

However, AD opened up after the match and provided an update regarding his injury.

Davis is reportedly suffering from hip and groin spasms. The Lakers will surely wish that the condition does not keep him out though. In a video uploaded on X (formerly Twitter), by Spectrum SportsNet, AD speaks up about this.

“I think letting it calm down, just talking to my trainer, everything will be fine,” said Davis. He further added, “I’ll be fine” and hinted at his availability for Wednesday’s game against the Houston Rockets. It is believed that AD not being fit was a major reason why the Lakers lost the match. The scoreline is marginal, the Heat defeated the Lakers 108-107.

However, the Lakers’ management and fans can heave a sigh of relief when the man himself mentions that it is not severe enough to keep him out of the next matches. AD is indeed a pivotal part of the Lakers squad.

It is safe to say that LeBron James is carrying the team on his shoulders. Averaging 25.3 points, with 8.4 rebounds, and 5.4 assists, he is still their key player. Not taking anything away from King James, but the Lakers should eye on keeping their other players fit if they want to go a long way into the playoffs.

If anything can stop the Lakers, it is AD’s injuries. He is extremely injury-prone and that concerns the Lakers management. Having traded away a lot of future assets to acquire Davis in 2019, the Lakers management will not see just one championship as a sufficient return on their investment and will want the former #1 draft pick to start affecting games more.
