Ayesha Curry’s life is not all glitz and glam. She manages multiple responsibilities throughout the day and ensures she makes time for her family. And more importantly, keeping them healthy. A celebrated chef herself, Mrs. Curry knows the need for a balanced diet. Not to mention, her husband, the Warriors fame Stephen Curry, needs to watch what he puts in his stomach. After all, a strict regimen is key for an athlete to stay in top shape. And that includes the food they eat. But that isn’t necessarily the case for children, though, is it?

While the kind of fitness plan Steph follows won’t be required, Ayesha believes that a healthy dose of everything in a meal is required. As a working mother, the temptation to simply order food can be hard to fight. Not to mention, with the kind of rigorous schedule the kids now have, eating is something they casually discard. And that’s where Ayesha lets us in on her little secret.

“My kids are busier than ever these days,” the mother of three affirms. “So I love to send them off with lots of healthy food to keep them fueled throughout the day.” And when the food is as tasty as the organic brand Annie’s provides, Ayesha assures that the children will be looking forward to their lunchtime.

Cooking and food have been a huge part of Ayesha Curry’s identity and journey toward self-love. So it wasn’t a surprise when she and her husband started the Eat.Learn.Play Foundation to ensure the children in their community ate right, had access to quality education, and safe places to play. Her lifestyle brand, Sweet July, also understands the key role of superfoods. And they are a big part of why the brand has seen so much success.

In fact, every initiative the millionaire entrepreneur invests in has a human touch to it. Both she and Steph are also the biggest advocates for the upliftment of black communities. Mrs. Curry, especially, is focused on creating opportunities for women of color.

Ayesha is determined to level the playing field for black women

If that’s not possible, then create a new one. This was Ayesha Curry’s message to the world during the Know Your Value and Forbes’ 30/50 Summit in Abu Dhabi on International Women’s Day 2023. She had already made her goals known when she used Sweet July to improve the representation of women of color through her brand.

And her recent re-launch of the wine brand, Domaine Curry, with her sister-in-law, Sydel Curry-Lee, was another feather in her cap. Taking the stage at the Summit, Ayesha said, “I say level the playing field, but it’s [about] making a new playing field.” The event also delved deep into her accessible recipes.

She explains that people no longer have time to go the traditional route. That’s the reality of life. But having a meal together is not just about satisfying hunger. “Food is a vessel for communication. I feel like those meals … tell a story.” Once again, it all comes down to food for Ayesha Curry.
