Bronny James’ misery continues! Ever since he got drafted by the Lakers, fans have questioned if the rookie is truly NBA-ready or just got the opportunity because of his father’s influence. Unfortunately, Bronny’s performance in the ongoing preseason has only made things worse for him. And the situation did not get any better in tonight’s road game against the Suns as Kevin Durant and other stars gave the rookie his ‘Welcome to the League’ moment while Bronny struggled to put points on the board. Sure enough, fans did not miss the opportunity to troll him yet again.
Continuing his poor shooting streak, Bronny was able to score only 4 points tonight. And he had several embarrassing moments during the game as he constantly faced rejection from the Suns defense. One such moment was when he flew in the air for a layup attempt during the fourth quarter, but his shot was swatted by his father’s good pal Kevin Durant. Losing balance after the mid-air collision with The Slim Reaper, Bronny couldn’t even get the shot off.

Fortunately for him, the referee called a shooting foul on KD, sending Bronny to the free-throw line. However, it only highlighted the rookie’s struggles from the charity stripes as he bricked both his shots. And the game was filled with such moments as during another play, Bradley Beal stripped the ball off Bronny’s hands while he drove to the basket for a layup attempt.
Even out of the two field goals that the rookie made, one never made it through the basket as his shot was blocked by Bol Bol. However, the Suns Center’s other hand was holding the net, which led to a goaltending call, awarding Bronny two points. Otherwise, he would have finished with another two-point performance. As expected, fans did not let Bronny’s embarrassing performance slide and roasted him on social media.
NBA World questions Bronny James’ interest in basketball and wonders why he is in the NBA
Obviously, Durant being LeBron’s good friend and recently teaming up for the Olympics, one netizen revealed what Bronny might be thinking when his shot was blocked by KD, “Why Uncle Kevin did that to me?”

Meanwhile, another netizen even questioned the referee’s foul call on that play, “Can’t tell me that wasn’t clean SMH.” Even the Suns reviewed the decision after the foul was called on KD. However, the original decision stood and Bronny was sent to the free-throw line. But it did look like Durant’s hand hit the ball first during the play.
And someone even urged Bronny to return to playing college basketball after his disappointing preseason showing. “Lmao Bronny James you need go back to Varsity basketball lol.” Spending only one year at USC, many believe that he got drafted into the league too early and should have spent more time in college working on his game.

With his weaknesses on full display, one fan questioned, “Can we have a real honest moment. What is Bronny James doing in the NBA?” In the first five preseason games, Bronny has gone scoreless in two and scored only two points twice. Surprisingly, tonight was his highest-scoring game so far. Moreover, he has yet to make a single three-pointer, which has made fans doubt his credibility as a player even more.
Because of it, one fan remarked, “Bronny James just doesn’t even look interested in playing pro ball.” While that might not really be the case, his constant struggles on the court have made fans wonder if he is even motivated to improve and play at a high level. Hopefully, he will be able to change people’s perception in the Lakers’ final preseason game tomorrow against the Warriors.
