With the Jimmy Butler saga finally over, the Heat’s focus now will be to climb the East standings and boost their chances of title contention. Well, their journey starts tonight as they take on the Celtics, hoping to shake off Friday’s Nets loss. However, it will be a night of mixed emotions for the Miami franchise. That’s because Andrew Wiggins is set to make his much-awaited debut, but Tyler Herro will not be available to accompany him.

Yes, Herro will not suit up tonight. The reason? A stomach illness. Obviously, this is a massive blow to the team because he is having an incredible season with career highs all around, at 23.7 points and nearly six assists per game. Sure enough, Herro also received his first All-Star nod for his impressive performance.

Adding to the concerns, he is not the only Heat player suffering from this sudden stomach illness. Turns out, Jaime Jaquez Jr. is also dealing with the same issue and missed Sunday’s practice because of it. Unfortunately, he is also out for the game. Just like Tyler, Jaime is also a key part of the rotation, averaging 9.3 points and nearly five rebounds.

With Jaquez and Herro out, it’s the perfect opportunity for Wiggins to leave his mark right away. Yes, the former Warriors forward has been bumped to the starting lineup for his Heat debut. Davion Mitchell will be joining him as the starting point guard. Of course, both players were part of the blockbuster Butler trade and tonight will be their first time wearing the Heat uniform.

Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo, Kel’el Ware, and Alec Burks will also start the game with the two new teammates. Although Herro will not join Wiggins on his special night, the superstar guard has complete faith in the former champ’s abilities.

Obviously, Herro is looking forward to sharing the court with Wiggs, as he knows what he brings to the table. “Wiggs is a basketball player, a champion, played at the highest level on multiple different teams. He knows how to play,” Herro said.

Well, Andrew was a major reason the Warriors won the title three years ago, as he was arguably their second-best player that season after Stephen Curry. So, facts Herro! And he would be expected to have a similar impact in Miami as well.

Moreover, Tyler added that they will get “him comfortable” in his new team soon so that the veteran forward/guard can perform at a high level. But it’s not just his new teammates who are excited to make Wiggins feel at home.
