While most of his NBA counterparts, including LeBron James and Stephen Curry, are happily married with multiple children, Kevin Durant continues to boast a single life. Yes, there was a time when The Slim Reaper was engaged and planning to tie the knot with former WNBA star Monica Wright. But the couple unfortunately split up before they could take the next step in their relationship. Since then, KD has been rumored to be with several women, over the years, but has always maintained his single status.

But why the reluctance to date? Surely, many of you might be wondering the same about the Suns superstar. During a recent appearance on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast, Durant spilled the beans about his prolonged relationship status, “Coz, I don’t want a girlfriend.” Yes, it’s just that simple for him. However, iShowSpeed was not convinced by the response and suggested that a brutal heartbreak in the past might have led KD to choose this path.

But the veteran instantly denied the theory, saying, “I wouldn’t say I had my heart broken. I’ve started to understand women a little bit more. Early on, I understood that like she’s not mine. Even if she may be my girlfriend, she might be influenced by other people.” Sure enough, being the girlfriend of one of the most popular and richest athletes will put you in a massive spotlight. And people might be easily influenced in that position. That’s the reason KD doesn’t “trip on” that relationship.

However, that does not mean The Slim Reaper is completely out of the dating scene, “If we having a good time for a moment then cool. If you end up venturing off and I do too, it is what it is.”

While Kevin Durant detailed his unique outlook toward dating, the panelists even attempted convincing him to look at the positives of being in a relationship. “You just gotta find the right girl, man,” Logan Paul remarked, who’s expecting his child in the fall of 2024 with Nina Agdal. But an agitated KD quickly shut him down, saying, “Come on, bro. Stop talking to me like I need advice.”

Then, the hooper claimed that he gets the same reaction from people whenever he opens up about his views on women, “See, every time I explain my stance to people, they say s**t like this like ‘Damn bro, you just been hurt.’ Bro, I enjoy spending time with, it’s just not as long as maybe you like to spend time with people, man. Two days for me is cool.” Although KD made it clear that he does not want a girlfriend, he once almost went off the market during his relationship with Monica Wright. So, what happened?

Why Kevin Durant and Monica Wright’s engagement failed? Is he being linked to Angel Reese?

Well, KD’s only confirmed relationship was a decade ago, and it almost went the distance. While he was still playing for OKC, Durant began dating former WNBA star Monica Wright, who he had known since high school. Surprisingly enough, the question was popped within months and the couple began hearing wedding bells. However, they ended their relationship a year later before it could turn into a marriage.

And KD even opened up about his failed engagement during a GQ interview, “I had a fiancée, but… I really didn’t know how to, like, love her, you know what I’m saying? We just went our separate ways.” While he didn’t reveal who broke up with whom, Monica claimed in an interview that it was she who ended things.

When asked why, the WNBA hooper said, “Yeah, in my last relationship, I had to make a decision about compromising myself as a woman. I had to make a decision to leave a relationship, which a lot of people thought I was crazy to leave. There was a lot of criticism over it.”

Following the break-up, Kevin Durant has been linked with several women over the years, including real estate agent Cassandra Anderson. But none have been confirmed by him. And KD finds himself amid dating rumors once again as he is now being linked to Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese after the two were spotted sitting together during a game between USA and Germany.

Sure enough, the rumors quickly caught fire as Angel Reese is a rising star in the hoop world and there is also a 13-year age gap between the two. While KD has chosen to remain silent about the dating rumors, the Bayou Barbie denied them on the Unapologetically Angel podcast, “That was never a thing. I don’t even know how that even became a thing because I sat next to somebody.”

Then she even pointed out a key detail that many fans ignored- “My friend was sitting next to Steph (Curry). I don’t even get that. I don’t even know where that came from.” Yes, right next to Angel and Durant, Steph was also sitting alongside her friend. But no one batted an eye and only focused on The Slim Reaper, likely because of his single status. Despite multiple rumors, KD seems to have no plans of changing his stance and entering the dating world.
