Bucks fans are used to sweating out Giannis Antetokounmpo’s injury updates. But this time, his absence against the Thunder isn’t the biggest concern—it’s what might come next. Trade rumors are swirling, and Milwaukee’s franchise cornerstone may not just be missing a game. He could be on his way out.
How, you ask? We will come back to that in a moment. But right now, the question is: what is Giannis’ status vs Oklahoma City?
The Milwaukee Bucks revealed on their injury report that Giannis Antetokounmpo would join Damian Lillard in being OUT of the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It seems a knee injury, specifically right patellar tendinopathy, is what’s stopping him from playing tonight. There is no timeline for his return yet. However, it is worth remembering that he has been dealing with this knee issue all season.

As you can see, Giannis will not be the only one missing out on the Thunder game. Khris Middleton has seen his minutes limited since returning from ankle surgery back in December. Given their jam-packed schedule, it’s not difficult to understand why Doc Rivers and the Bucks’ medical staff are taking no chances.
However, the Bucks are going through one of the worst injury crises in the league currently. They have only two healthy starters as it stands. But will Milwaukee deal with this by giving up their best player and bringing in some fresh bodies into their squad? Let’s see what the buzz is ahead of the deadline.

The NBA world was sent into a frenzy after Luka Doncic’s shocking trade to the Lakers just a few days ago. But it seems another blockbuster deal may be on the cards. And it all revolves around Giannis Antetokounmpo sharing the roster with arguably the best shooter the NBA has ever seen.

We are talking of course, about Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors. After Curry made it clear that he wishes to make one final push for the NBA title before his career is over, the Warriors have made it priority number one to give him the backup he needs. “The Warriors are legitimately calling about every All-Star player,” reported ESPN’s Shams Charania recently.
It appears as though Ant made the Warriors’ list alongside marquee names such as LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and the notorious Jimmy Butler. Clutch Points’ Brett Siegel wrote, “Outside of (Kevin) Durant and (LeBron) James, Giannis Antetokounmpo is the other Tier 1 superstar that the Warriors view as a dream trade target, sources said.” Even so, there are a few potential hindrances to this trade.
Siegel cited the Warriors’ lack of tradeable assets as the primary obstacle to the completion of this trade. Furthermore, it’s hard to see the Bucks parting ways with Giannis despite their current injury situation. Ant to the Bay Area is a long shot and the Warriors are well aware of that.

Nevertheless, we don’t think that’ll dissuade them from pursuing him, given how badly they want to win another championship while Curry is still playing. After all, Giannis’ 30 points per game this season will be an incredible addition to the Dubs’ roster. The next 48 hours will prove pivotal for both teams’ future. And, like always, we’ll be here to provide you with any and all updates!
