The Warriors are currently walking on thin ice! Stephen Curry suffered a left ankle peroneal strain and is expected to miss at least a week or two. On the other hand, the very next day after the injury, Coach Steve Kerr revealed that Andrew Wiggins, who dropped a promising 29 points against the Clippers, was doubtful for tonight’s game against the Pelicans. And, the latest update confirmed that the 29-year-old won’t lace up for sure. Let’s find out why.
Following the LA game, the team had listed Wiggins in the Questionable category with a back injury. Speaking on the 95.7 The Game radio show, Kerr had initially said, “We are gonna be without De’Anthony Melton and Wiggs tomorrow night… Most likely not (Reiterates Wiggs’ absence). Questionable right now, I’d say. There’s a good chance that we keep him out. We’ll leave him as questionable, but I am sort of planning to play without him.”
While he made a doubtful statement before the first Pelicans game, Kerr has now confirmed that Andrew Wiggins won’t play tonight, as per Anthony Slater. The update stated it was a minor injury and hinted that the star “could return” for the back-to-back tomorrow!

Above all, Kerr promisingly said, “We are really making sure we are being careful with it. This is all in Rick (Celebrini)’s hands and the training staff.” If we look closer at the Warriors‘ bench during the games, Steph, Green, and Klay (up until last season) could be seen strapped up with ice packs on their knees. The veterans stripped them off before stepping on the court again.

This time, with a new role as a shooting guard alongside Stephen Curry, he dropped 20 points. Speaking after that Portland game, Kerr said, “Wiggs was great… And this is kind of what we’re expecting this year, honestly. Peace of mind. Great shape. In the prime of his career. I think Wiggs is poised to have a great season.”
Moreover, it isn’t just Kerr, even Wiggins himself is confident about bouncing back big time this season. Speaking of his 2024 summer, the hooper said, “I’ve been striving, this whole summer, and in training camp to be the best I can be. I’m going to keep working toward it. Every day. Every game. Going to give it my all and leave it on the floor.” Above all, 2014’s No. 1 Draft pick aims to reach the mountain top (All-Star appearance) this season. Will Andrew Wiggins do so?
