Bradley Beal’s name was swirling in trade rumors for weeks, but guess what? He’s still in Phoenix. His no-trade clause ensured that. Now that the deadline drama is over, the All-Star guard can finally focus on chasing a title with the Suns. Or can he? Next up, the Phoenix Suns got a showdown with Ja Morant and the Grizzlies on Tuesday.
The Suns are running out of time to climb the standings. At 26-26, they’re stuck in 11th place, looking in from the outside. Every game from here on out is do-or-die. If they don’t get it together soon, they’ll be watching the playoffs from the couch instead of competing for a title.
And Beal won’t be suiting up for Phoenix this time reports Duane Rankin. A toe sprain has him sidelined again, marking his third straight missed game. He won’t be suiting up against the Rockets on Wednesday either. Another game on the sidelines adds to his growing list of missed matchups.Just when he was catching fire, too. Before the injury, he had been locked in, scoring over 20 points in three of his last four appearances, even dropping 25 in back-to-back games.

Beal may be coming off the bench, but that hasn’t slowed him down. He’s putting up 16.6 points and 4.0 assists while shooting a blistering 52.5% from the field and 42.1% from three. Phoenix could definitely use that firepower back soon. The Suns won’t see him back on the court until at least Feb. 20 against the Spurs, giving him plenty of time to recover.
Beal has only been able to play 26 games each with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant. What’s the point of having a Big three if they can’t even play together?
With Bradley Beal locked in at the Suns, will the Big three lead the Suns to a deep playoffs run?
Despite all the trade deadline chaos, Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal are still in Phoenix. Now, with around 30 games left, the Suns have to figure things out—fast.
But let’s be honest, nothing about this season suggests they will.
Trade rumors surrounded Durant and Beal, yet Phoenix made no major moves. General manager James Jones didn’t reveal much before Friday’s game against the Jazz. “It always gets noisy when you’re not winning,” he said. “And we’re not winning.”
The Suns finally snapped a three-game skid with a 135-127 OT win over Utah, pushing their record to 26-25. But, once again, Durant (ankle) and Beal (toe) weren’t on the court. But then they lost to the Nuggets, becoming a 0.500 team once again. That’s been the story for this so-called Big 3—injuries keeping them from building chemistry. The Suns are 24-15 when KD plays but a brutal 2-11 without him.

Even when healthy, the trio hasn’t clicked. Phoenix fired Frank Vogel, brought in Mike Budenholzer, and reshaped the roster after last season’s playoff disaster. So far? No real improvement.

Jones insists they’re still in the fight. “These last 32 games give us an opportunity to maximize what we do.” Beal’s $110 million contract kept him in trade talks, but his no-trade clause gave him control. Durant’s name popping up as a trade target? That was a shocker.
The Suns did move Jusuf Nurkic for Cody Martin and Vasa Micic, but will that be enough? At this point, it’s do or die.
