The Golden State Warriors defeated the Charlotte Hornets 115-97 tonight. But Klay Thompson wasn’t available for the clash. Steve Kerr reveals that Thompson had felt something along the lines of knee soreness during their Orlando matchup that laid the base for the decision to sit the shooting guard out for the game.

The soreness followed Thompson around today during the pre-game warmups. After examining it, the Director of Sports Medicine for the Warriors, Rick Celebrini, made the decision not to put him out on the floor. Kendra Andrews tweeted the same on her X account. She also mentions that his status for the San Antonio game has to be discussed. “Rick Celebrini decided it wasn’t a good idea for him to play. Thompson’s status for Sunday’s game in San Antonio is tbd.”

Klay Thompson was diagnosed with right knee tendinitis and the team had Chris Paul start in his place. Since his bench role, Thompson has been putting up solid numbers. While there were inconsistencies in his stat line throughout this season, it’s fair to say that his overall averages (17.7 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game) are also pretty neat, considering that the 4x champion’s injuries have slowed down his mad skills.

The Dubs currently occupy the 10th position in the West. And with just nine games to go for the postseason, the GSW cannot afford to lose some of their best players. Especially when one of them is always a risk factor.

Draymond Green can’t seem to balance his passion with awareness

The most recent in Draymond Green‘s book of violent outbursts was the NSFW comment to NBA official Ray Acosta. Since his return from the indefinite suspension following the Jusuf Nurkić altercation, resulting in an absence of 12 games, Green managed to stay away from trouble.

But not for long. From the Santi Aldama confrontation to pulling Patty Mills down and now, the Acosta issue, it seems like the Warriors just can’t catch a break with the veteran power forward. While Green does all of this because of his passion for the game, competitiveness, and fierce loyalty to his team and teammates, the path he often takes is questionable.

This was only too apparent when Bay Area reporters Kerith Burke and Zena Keita got together to discuss. Keita believed that when a team has a superstar like Draymond Green, someone who instantly makes the team better as soon as he steps on the floor, his actions warrant harsh punishments that not only affect him, but the team, the bad cancel the good.

Although his heart is in the right place, a lack of awareness tends to do more harm than good.
