It’s that time of the year again. The hectic regular season will take a step back and the NBA is all set to showcase its mid-season entertainment. The 3-day NBA All-Star weekend has so much to offer with exciting contests and games. Fans, on the other end, can witness their favorite players engaging in different acts away from their routine balling action. However, amid all this glitz and glamor, something remains unchanged — The officiating. The referees never had an easy day.

Moreover, with the introduction of the all-new format, the refs have extended duties. Earlier, we were used to witnessing only two teams locking horns at the All-Star main event. This time, we will be having four teams (Three from the All-Star selection, and one from the winner of the Rising Star event). In total, we have three games on Sunday night! Now, without any further delay, let’s look at the officials who are responsible for running the show.

Who are the officials for the 2025 NBA All-Star weekend?

Since it’s a three-day event, let’s go through the officials list on a day-to-day basis. Firstly, the All-Star weekend kicks off on Friday night with the Celebrity All-Star Game and the Rising Star competition. The duty for the event has been split among two sets of referees. Jenna Reneau, Biniam Maru, and Cat Chang will officiate the main event of Day 1, which is the celebrity match-up. With multiple celebrities from various fields, who aren’t necessarily well-versed with basketball taking the court, the refs definitely will have a tough time.

Meanwhile, the Rising Star competition, the 3-game event with players from the G-League and NBA, will have Jason Goldenberg, Mousa Dagher, and Danielle Scott officiating it. Here, the young guns are looking to make a mark in the NBA world. So, without a doubt, this would be a high-octane contest and this set of refs must have their attention on point.

Moving on to the second day, the Saturday night of the All-Star weekend is comparatively the most relaxed day. The NBA stars will engage in various contests like Skills Challenge, 3-point challenge, and slam-dunk contest. Unlike the usual fast-paced officiating, the refs can take a breather. Moreover, the refs are not required for the dunk contest, as usual, former players overtake the jury’s table for this particular contest. So, for the remaining two events, Jason Goldenberg, Mousa Dagher, and Danielle Scott will once again return.

On the final day, four teams will lace up to take on the showdown event. The winners of the Rising Star competition will join the seniors and have the golden opportunity to create history. If the rookies and young guns manage to win the event, it will be the first time in the history of the league, that players without the All-Star would lift the trophy. Anyway, Kevin Scott, Tre Maddox, and Eric Dalen will have the privilege to officiate the historic mini-tournament.
