30 December is here. For some, that would just be the day before they start getting into the vibe of celebrating the New Year. For NBA enthusiasts, especially Lakers fans, however, it is the day they commemorate a major milestone! LeBron James, the All-Time Scorer, and the star who led the team to a championship title back in 20220, finally turns 40!

In the hours leading up to the D-Day, Anthony Davis highlighted that he ‘forgot’ the milestone, when he stated “He is turning 40, huh? It is a big milestone. I’ll probably get him a bottle of vino or something… thank you for reminding me. I’m a bad friend.” Though Anthony Davis may have ‘forgotten’, LeBron’s new teammates may be looking to start D-Day with a bang.

The Los Angeles Lakers recently engaged in a major trade with the Brooklyn Nets. The same sent Dorian Finney-Smith & Shake Milton to the Lakers. A recent video highlighted the duo touching down in LA. Pulling out his phone camera, Dorian Finney-Smith exclaimed “Just touched down in LA”. From behind, Shake Milton exclaimed, “Lake show let’s go”.

From the looks of it, the duo was hyped to begin the new journey of their NBA career. However, with them touching down on LeBron’s 40 birthday, fans began to question whether they may be hyped over other reasons.

How did fans react to Dorian Finney-Smith & Shake Milton landing in LA?

One social media user wrote, “Be honest who sent the jet Bron or Jeanie??” Fans may certainly have a reason for thinking this way. After all, if anyone can send a private jet to fly in his two new teammates, then chances are it could be him—the $1.2 billion LeBron James. Since the 40 birthday does not come every day, the player would especially be going ‘All-Out’ during this memorable occasion.

Have an interesting take?

Another social media user wrote, “Hope they know it’s a national holiday for LeBron’s birthday”. If it isn’t, then it certainly should be, don’t you think? Some can take LeBron James’ birthday as what it is in simple terms: the NBA player turning another year old. However, turning 40 can also be a celebration of everything he has achieved to this point, including his longevity in his chosen sport.

There is a reason why the Lakers’ Power Forward is often compared with the likes of Michael Jordan!

Furthermore, along with the NBA, LeBron James has created a mark alongside the Team USA squad too. He bagged 4 Olympic Medals (3 Gold, 1 Bronze), another bronze medal during the 2006 FIBA World Championship in Japan, and a Gold during the 2007 FIBA Americas Championship held in Las Vegas. It would be a crime not to call James a national champion!

Another social media user formed a connection between the arrival of the new recruits and the other special occasion by writing “Just in time for Brons bday party!”

LeBron James certainly knows what he wants, when it comes to birthday parties. During his 39 bash last year, the NBA All-Time Scorer pulled off a ’70s-themed event. The venue space was transformed to replicate the renowned Studio 54 in New York. However, the name highlighted was ‘Studio 84’, as it commemorated the year LeBron James was born. The player himself went all ’70s. He donned an Afro Wig with gold jewelry, dark sunglasses, and a floral-patterned shirt in order to embrace the disco era. From Jay-Z and Beyonce to Kevin Hart, several A-list celebrities found their way to the Big Soiree.

While we don’t know who will make LeBron James’ guest list this time around, we can presume that Dorian Finney-Smith & Shake Milton might find their way to the party.

One social media user certainly presumed that the two NBA players would be a part of the birthday guest list. After all, that may have caused him to write, “Boys got in early to party with bday Bron”.

It was only on Sunday when the trade deal between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets was confirmed. As highlighted by CBS Sports, the duo may appear in the Lakers’ next game against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Tuesday. Therefore, while Finney-Smith and Shake Milton might get one day to practice with their new team, arriving early also gives the team a chance to invite them to the party. That is, if they already haven’t.

One social media user chose to self-prioritize the importance of the two events that happened on the same day. Therefore, commenting on the video which highlighted Dorian Finney-Smith & Shake Milton landing in LA, he wrote “don’t care. it’s lebon bon’s birthday”.

Well, you can always celebrate two occasions. However, the commenter may simply have not wanted Finney-Smith and Milton to ‘pull off a Rachel Green’ and steal the thunder. As highlighted, however, it is not every day one celebrates their 40 birthday. Therefore, stealing LeBron’s thunder on this D-Day may not be that easy.
