Luka Doncic takes the fight to another level. There are many instances when the Slovenian engaged in a heated argument with fans courtside. Especially during this postseason, the Dallas guard had plenty of such moments. However, tonight at TD Garden, he picked up a fight with a big fish named Wyc Grousbeck. He was none other than the governor of the Celtics. The man with a humongous net worth of $400 million had invested himself so much in the game that he seemingly became a violent fan. What exactly happened?

During a dead ball, the 62-year-old stood up and made a technical foul sign at the Slovenian star. Following that, Luka reached up to him after a bucket and had a heated conversation, leaving the Celts fans to burst into laughter in the background. Notably, Wyc has been in a celebratory mood since the Celtics’ dominant victory on Thursday.

Following the Game 1 victory, the Celtics owner celebrated the win with a live performance alongside the Grammy-nominated James Montgomery Band at the Greatest Bar. And speaking of the team’s success, he said, “The city is on fire. We were fired up for the Bruins too and wishing they’re here. Red Sox, Patriots… But right now, it’s our time, “ via CBS news. And Grousbeck brought the same energy into the TD Garden for Game 2.

The boisterous Boston crowd also got into the act, making it difficult for the Mavs to silence the crowd. This isn’t anything new. In the last game, Kyrie underwent a similar treatment, but it was an ordinary fan from 10 rows back who heckled him. Kai allegedly responded by flipping his finger at him. However, tonight, Luka Doncic had to deal with his rival’s owner directly.

Did Luka Doncic know who Wyc Grousbeck was?

Game 2 didn’t go in the Mavericks’ favor. Tonight wasn’t a blowout loss, yet the Celtics had control throughout the game. At one point, they almost chased down the Celts’ lead with a 9-0 run in the final few minutes. PJ Washington also had the opportunity to cut down the lead to 3 points with one minute left. Unfortunately, he misjudged the dunk and ended up throwing the game away for a 98-105 loss.

Amid this loss, Luka Doncic also had yet another setback. After having a heated argument with the Celts’ owner on the courtside, he couldn’t have the last laugh. On top of it, the Slovenian superstar didn’t know who Grousbeck was. When a reporter asked Luka Magic about his interaction with the owner, he said, “Sorry, I don’t know who’s the Celtics owner.”

This could even branch out a new rivalry in the Mavs-Celtics clash. With 0-2 down in the series, the Mavs move to their home turf and have a dire need to win the next two to stay alive in the series. Mark Cuban, the Mavs part-owner, who has also been very much invested in the team’s run this playoff, could show up with a different energy in Game 3.
