Starting their relationship sometime around 2017, Sam and Mary decided to tie the knot after dating for five years. And one year later, in August 2023, the two officially became husband and wife after a wholesome ceremony surrounded by their friends and family. “Mr. & Mrs. Hauser 💍” Sam proudly wrote, sharing several moments from their wedding. Married at an early age, Sam and Mary are yet to become parents and are currently focused on building their careers. While Sam is slowly establishing himself as an NBA player, his wife, Mary Elizabeth Dodge, also recently completed her master’s in Communication two years ago from Texas A&M University. Before that, Mary, 26, also briefly studied sports management at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside.
Mary Dodge’s athletic background
Coming from a family full of athletes, Mary was always destined to be great at whatever sports she chose. Not as good as Sam, but her brother was also a basketball player who played at West Point for two seasons. However, Mary decided to follow in her mother, Linda Dodge’s footsteps, who used to play volleyball at UW-La Crosse. Starting her volleyball journey at an early age, Mary garnered many accolades by the time she started college at Wisconsin. Playing for the club East Troy Heat and a few other teams, Mary won a state title in 2014 and was even named an All-American.
Then, playing for the Badgers at the University of Wisconsin for four years, she even got a chance to represent Team USA in 2018 as part of the USA Volleyball Collegiate National Team Detroit. And just a year later, Mary would bag the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. While she did not pursue her volleyball career at the pro level, Mary did leave a massive impact at the High School and collegiate level.
