However, the following season, he was traded to the Toronto Raptors in a sign-and-trade deal for Kyle Lowry. In his Raptors debut, he contributed 8 points and 6 rebounds. Later, against the Grizzlies, he set a career-high with 17 points.

However, Toronto traded him in the next season. He was acquired by the Knicks, as part of a deal involving several players, which marked the beginning of his time in NY.
