From Brittany Renner to Alisah Chanel: Has PJ Washington finally found his true match?

PJ Washington broke into the scene with his debut game for the Charlotte Hornets, scoring a stellar 27 points and shooting 7-of-11 from beyond the arc. He was picked 12th overall by the Hornets in the 2019 NBA Draft and went on to play five seasons at Charlotte, till he moved to Dallas ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Although he only played 29 games last season for the Dallas Mavericks, this season he looks to make a bigger impact and so far has played in 9 games averaging 10.3 points with 8.3 rebounds. Additionally, in the most recent matchup of the Mavericks against OKC, Washington dropped 27 points and even had 17 rebounds ensuring his side’s victory on the night.

The Dallas Mavericks forward shares his life with his wife Alisah Chanel. After taking a second shot at love following his break-up with ex-girlfriend, Brittany Renner. Washington proposed to Chanel in August, 2022 and she took to Instagram to share the wholesome news as she wrote “Soooooo….. this happened this morning,” and added, “Issa fiancée. WOW, babe you did that. I LOVE YOU.” Later on in October 2023, the couple tied the knot in a glamorous wedding.

While P.J. Washington is now happily married to his wife Alisah, before this he was involved in a relationship with Brittany Renner. Although the date of their meeting is unclear, it would be sometime at the University of Kentucky, where Washington attended and played collegiate basketball for the Kentucky Wildcats.

Rumors of them being together started to take off when Washington liked several of Renner’s Instagram pictures as she was building her platform as an influencer. Later on, he invited her to watch him play at the University of Kentucky, which could have been their first meeting in person. Then fast forward to March 2021, When Renner announced her pregnancy on Social Media.

The couple shared their excitement in a now-deleted post which showed Washington saying, “Can’t wait to meet my lil man,” and Renner’s post was captioned, “My king and prince.” On May 5, 2021, they welcomed their son, Paul Jermaine Washington III. Just a few months after their child’s arrival a tweet from Washington indicated that Washington and Renner had split up.

The tweet read, “Watch the snakes cause they watchin you” hinting there were problems in their relationship before it came to an end. Renner was even accused of grooming Washington, due to the eight-year difference between the two, which she later denied.
