“Max Strus, if you’re out there and you’re single, I’m here and ready.” That was all that former ‘Bachelorette’ star Jenn Tran had to say for the NBA world to start questioning the Cleveland Cavaliers player’s relationship status. Coming fresh from the season of the popular reality show, the 26-year-old talked about breaking up with Devin Strader weeks before the finale aired. When discussing about getting back to the dating scene, she revealed that Celtics star Jayson Tatum, aka her celebrity crush, would only be good enough for a friend date at the moment. However, after knowing that the player may already be committed to Ella Mai, Tran was quick to change her pick to Max Strus.

In the five years that he has been in the league, the 28-year-old has certainly left a good impression on fans. He certainly made the Cleveland Cavaliers feel like they got their money’s worth after the player made 21 points during his debut with them. He then averaged 12.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4 assists over the next regular season. The 59-foot half-court shot he made during the matchup against the Dallas Mavericks back in February put the player on the radar. Throughout it all, however, none of us got the chance to inquire much about the player’s life outside of the basketball court. Until now!

Though Max Strus may not have a significant half, he does have a bunch of family members standing beside him during moments of need. After all, with an Instagram bio of “Family Over Everything”, no one should expect anything else. Being the youngest of three children, no one should have even questioned the path that Strus took after getting to know his loved ones.

Max’s father John Strus also possessed an affinity for basketball that allowed him to make a mark during his tenure at Eastern Illinois University. Meanwhile, almost 191 miles away, Max’s mother Debra Straus created a name, in both basketball and volleyball, at DePaul University. By the time she graduated, she had even earned a spot in the ‘DePaul Athletic Hall of Fame.’ Following the same path as his parents, Max’s elder brother Marty played college basketball at Lewis University. Today, he serves as the head coach at Stagg High School. Meanwhile, Maggie, the NBA player’s elder sister, also pursued college volleyball but through the University of Illinois. However, she does serve as an assistant volleyball coach today at DePaul, her mother’s alma mater.

Even if Strus hasn’t shared any details, that hasn’t stopped the NBA world from speculating. A simple search on social media applications like TikTok, with the caption ‘Max Strus’s girlfriend,’ will generate hundreds of videos featuring different women. Unfortunately, none of them is one. So, could this be the opportunity for Tran to put the dark part of her previous relationship behind and start fresh with Strus? Who knows, Strus might even ask her to participate in some of his trolling activities!

Did Max Strus take a shot at Boston Fans through Panthers Jersey?

The recent playoffs series marked the first time the Cleveland Cavaliers had made it to the Conference Semi-Finals since 2018. By the time the series reached Game 5, the stakes were high as the Boston Celtics led 3-1. Furthermore, it didn’t help that the matchup was held in the Celtics’ home turf at TD Garden. Max Strus may not have known whether he would walk out of the arena victorious or not. Either way, he made the best use of the opportunity, through mind games.

Max Strus entered the TD Garden arena sporting a Panthers jersey. With a neutral expression on his face, the Cavaliers star did not indicate any feelings and simply walked on. The moment captured ‘Celtics on NBC’, may have had a lasting effect on viewers, conveying meaning without any explicit gestures or expressions.

Under normal circumstances, Strus’ outfit might’ve gone unnoticed. However, he wore the Panthers jersey at a time when the NHL’s Boston Bruins and the Florida Panthers were battling it out in the second round of the 2024 Playoffs. The last time that the two teams faced off, the Panthers initially trailed the Bruins 3-1 in the 2023 Stanley Cup Playoffs. However, the Panthers recovered and won the last three games, with Games 5 and 7 in Boston itself. Strus himself lost the series to the Celtics, but he might have triggered some Boston fans before leaving.
