Even though he’s not even 25 yet, Kevin Porter Jr. has lived quite a tumultuous life. From losing his father at age 4 to making it to the NBA after only a year of college, Kevin has seen the highest of highs and lowest of lows. 

And now, the shooting guard has returned to the NBA with the Clippers. So here’s a refresher on the star’s personal life. More specifically, his relationship with Kysre Gondrezick.

Did Kevin Porter Jr. date ex-WNBA star Kysre Gondrezick? A look into their relationship

Kevin Porter Jr. and Kysre Gondrezick had quite a chaotic relationship. It turned into one. It culminated with Kevin being arrested on September 11, 2023, on assault charges. This happened at the Millennium Hilton in New York. The police alleged that Kevin and Kysre got into a physical altercation at the hotel. Per their report, Porter Jr., hit her multiple times, causing a large gash on her face. He even allegedly attempted to strangle her, leaving her with bruises and a fractured neck vertebra.

However, one of the charges against him was suddenly dropped because of insufficient evidence. Soon after, Kysre herself began raising hell, saying her experience had been misrepresented by the authorities pursuing the charges against Kevin.  

She claimed Kevin did not hit her, and all he did was abruptly wake her up after a night out, which caused her to fall and hit her head. According to her claims, the facial laceration was caused by the fall and a makeup smear on the hotel room wall would corroborate her story. Moreover, she also said the neck injury was a preexisting one that was in no way caused by Porter Jr. 

Her attorney, Bobby Atchiler, also lambasted the authorities for their handling of the case. He called it unethical and immoral to not correct the misinformation that had been sent out for the world to see. However, despite these new findings, Kevin was charged and accepted a plea deal with the NYPD. He pled guilty to a misdemeanor reckless assault charge and a second-degree harassment violation, narrowly avoiding jail time. However, this controversy left Kevin without a team in the NBA.

When did Kevin Porter Jr. and Kysre Gondrezick start dating?

Kevin Porter Jr. and his ex-girlfriend Kysre Gondrezick allegedly began dating in February 2022. This was later confirmed by Kysre herself in an anniversary post on X. Their relationship would end after the controversy that saw Kevin stranded without an NBA club, forced to ply his trade in Greece with PAOK.

The hoopster wasn’t the only one left traumatized by the entire situation. Kysre Gondrezick told TMZ after the fiasco that the way the Manhattan DA’s office handled the case had, “compounded my trauma even more than the actual experience.” 

Is Kysre Gondrezick dating Celtics star Jaylen Brown?

In the summer of 2024, Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown and Kysre Gondrezick confirmed their relationship, appearing together at the ESPY Awards amid much fanfare. Together, they were spotted celebrating lavishly and entering the world of fashion in style at the NY Fashion Week. However, as the offseason drew to a close, their appearances together became rarer before ceasing altogether. 

Following the summer, fans were left in the dark regarding Brown and Gondrezick’s status as a couple. All her Instagram posts were centered around her budding career as an influencer. No Jaylen Brown anywhere in sight. Until one day in December when she shared a post with the caption, “I really do love dating myself.” 

Well, so far, Kysre has done everything but say the words themselves. So, it is abundantly clear that she and Brown are not dating anymore. As for Kevin Porter Jr., he seems to have moved on happily, now, focusing on his new start with the Los Angeles Clippers.
