It’s that time of the year again! The NBA world has opened its doors for the rookies who will be making a grand debut this season. One such name sparking the hype is that of Judah Mintz. Who is this 21-year-old youngster who made quite a sensational journey from going undrafted in 2024 to getting signed by the 76ers? We have got you covered!
Sometimes, despite all the consistent efforts, Lady Luck just doesn’t spare a smile for you. That was Judah Mintz, a few months ago. Even after an impressive average of 17.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game across the 64 games played for the Syracuse Orange team from 2022 to 24, he wasn’t selected in the 2024 NBA Draft.
But this time the jackpot was his as he triumphantly walked away with an Exhibit 10 deal in hand from the Sixers, who are looking forward to leveling up their game this season.

Judah Mintz: The stack of impressive figures that brought him to the elite 76ers pack!
With the training camp of the 76ers about to kick start just a month from now, the excitement’s ripe in the air. This is what the official team release had to say, “Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey announced today that the team has signed Judah Mintz. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.”
But they certainly were not quiet about the stats of the young SA rookie, which sealed his name on the final roster. Philly wanted the world to know about the fine selection they had placed their bets on. “Across two seasons at Syracuse, Mintz appeared in 64 games (63 starts), averaging 17.5 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 steals. As a sophomore, he was second in the ACC with an average of 18.8 points per game, while his 4.4 assists were fourth in the conference. Following the season, Mintz was selected to the All-ACC Second Team.”
Growing up in Fort Washington, Maryland, Mintz attended Gonzaga College High School. His immense passion for the hoop game burst through, as even while still a sophomore, he averaged 9 points per game. After shifting to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia when he was a senior, Mintz continued his action-packed streak. He went on to lead his team to the second spot at the All-National Interscholastic Basketball Conference after putting up an average of 16.8 points!
Known for his tenacious perimeter defense and some quick pick-and-rolls, the Syracuse guard knows how to mint a cohesive unit. He has also been considered improving upon his 3-and-D guard abilities while on the court by some of the sports analysts. Before making it to Syracuse Orange, Mintz was rated as a four-star recruit.
Initially, he was inclined towards Pittsburgh, but citing some personal reasons on his X handle, he decided against it, “I would like to sincerely thank Coach Capel and his staff for the care, concern and respect they’ve shown me and my family. From day one, they welcomed me with open arms and have always been honest with me.”
Showing how tough the decision had been for him both personally and professionally, he wrote, “While I genuinely appreciate the relationships I’ve developed with them, I still must do what I feel is best for myself moving forward. Therefore, after careful consideration and prayer I have decided to reopen my recruitment. This was not in any way an easy decision to make but it is again, what I believe is best for myself moving forward”.
With a passion for delivering, while still young in the Philadelphia pack, Mintz stood out from the undrafted pack during his Summer League stint with the Sixers in Vegas. With the final whistle being blown and the ultimate win over Boston, his scoreboard lodged 18 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals. This clearly roused the recruiters’ interest in the young lad and before you know it, he’s already in!
