The second round of the NBA Draft will begin soon, and the WSU player Jaylen Wells has got all of his hopes on it. His name did not come up in the first round of the draft. Over months recently, several networks have enlisted Wells between the 35th and 50th pick. As per ESPN’s mock draft from June 26, he is expected to be the 39th overall pick by the Memphis Grizzlies. On the other hand, Bleacher Report has put him up on 50th overall to the Indiana Pacers. The 6’7″ shooting guard has made much progress over last year on draft boards.
Coming to Jaylen Wells’ NCAA career, he lastly played for WSU as a guard. However, before he entered WSU, Wells was a Division II All-American at Sonoma State. However, that was not it; he was one of the best from the pool of players in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association. Moreover, he also played for Pullman for a year and obtained All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention. The accolade he received was due to his 12.6 PPG average for the team.
Though Well worked out with a lot of teams from the league, he got shifted to the second round. If the shooting guard does not get his place in the second round as well, he might go for a two-way contract to experience the pro-level firsthand. However, he will not be able to play many matches with the pro teams in the league. Still, the former WSU guard is expected to land at one of the expected teams in the second round.
