With the trio of Paul George, Joel Embiid, and Tyrese Maxey, the Philadelphia 76ers are going all in, attempting a championship title run. The latest development has been their new signing, Jared Brownridge. The Sixers have signed the 29-year-old guard to an Exhibit 10 deal. This is also significant as the squad will be heading for a training camp in the Bahamas from October 1 to October 5. So, it will be the best chance for the roster members to lock in a starting spot for themself.
And with the latest addition to the list, the competition has gone up a notch. But you might be wondering, who is this new guard paving his way into a potential championship-winning squad? We’ve got it for you!

Jared was born to their mother, Kathy, and their father, Enos Brownridge, on November 13, 1994. He also has a sibling, an elder sister, Lauren. Jared is a basketball fanatic who plays for the Delaware Blue Coats in the G-League. As per Santa Clara’s official data, he loves to hang out with friends, play pool and ping-pong, and go to the movies. The 29-year-old is also an EyeBronco reporter apart from playing in the G-League with the Media Relations department of Santa Clara, which hosts “Long Walks With Jared.”
Coming to the initial days of young Jared, there is no particular information available about it. We know that he joined Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora and displayed his flashes as a hooper, as he averaged 20.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.7 steals in his junior year. In his senior year, his numbers improved as he put 21.2 points per game, 1.4 steals, and 1.7 boards per game on his portfolio, playing through 29 games. In his final year, he scored 72 baskets from 3-point line with a 79.3% free throw percentage! It was the most memorable year of his High School career for the numerous accolades that he accumulated by the end.
Jared Brownridge finished as an all-time leader in 3-points made (203) and as the second-leading scorer (1,608). If that was enough, he earned a spot on the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association All-State Third Team and AP Boy’s Basketball All-State Teams Honorable Mention before slinging into college life.
College Accolades of the Sixers’ new Exhibit 10 signing
Jared Brownridge enrolled at Santa Clara as a college student pursuing majors in arts and sciences and minors in entrepreneurship. As soon as he got on the team of the varsity, he was a starter. He started in all 33 games of his freshman year, earning All-WCC Honorable Mention. He also made it to the WCC Newcomer of the Year and the All-Freshman team. With his constant shot attempts beyond the arc, Jared Brownridge became the 7th player in school history with 3 or more 30-point games in a season.
As he entered his junior year in college, during the 2014-15 season, he was unmoved from his starting spot, continuing the lead the way in all 32 games. It was more of a redemption year for Brownridge. The only achievement that caught the spotlight during this year in college was his 600 career baskets.
In the senior year, he started in all 31 games again, averaging 20.3 points. That year, he stood at the 56th spot for his free throws (159) and 44th place on the three-pointers (91) list. Notably, only three NCAA players could get past Jared Brownridge in both of these categories. Those were Buddy Hield of Oklahoma (1st in 3FGs/30th in FTs), Stefan Moody of Ole Miss (18th 3FGs/7th FTs), and Josh Adams of Wyoming (28th 3FGs/9th FTs).
One of the most prominent achievements of his junior year was surpassing 8x NBA All-Star and Santa Clara alumni Steve Nash (261/1992-96) for the second spot on the school’s all-time 3-pointers list. It was one of the decorated years in the college basketball career of Jared Brownridge.
All in all, he averaged just under 18 points, starting through 96 games in his college basketball, earning him a two-time first-team All-WCC performer. Also, he is the only player in school history to post 38 or more points in a game thrice.
Attempt at pro basketball from Jared Brownridge
No team drafted Jared in the 2017 Draft class despite his graduating with decent scoring numbers. That’s why he joined Pallacanestro Mantovana, an Italian team, to fulfill his hoops ambitions in July 2017. However, a change came up a year later when the Philadelphia 76ers’ G-League affiliate, Delaware Blue Coats, acquired him in March 2018. In the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons, he maintained a 16-point average with just 38.5% shooting from beyond the arc. However, in October 2021, the 76ers waived Jared Brownridge.
However, it was not the end, as fate took a turn, and Blue Coats reacquired Jared in December 2022. This time he did not disappoint as he helped the team to win the G-League title in 2023. The sign and waiver continued for Jared Brownridge as the team did the same in October 2023. But about 8 days later, the guard was back. It seems the fate was a little too harsh on the 29-year-old back then.
